French women: What makes them so damn sexy?

Do you agree?

I really admire how the French think women get sexier as they age. Why does the rest of the world not do this? Why do we portray women as sexually dead past the age of 30?

Well for starters, Carla Bruni was born in Italy and was only naturalized French in 2008...

Why do the rest of the world not do this?

I am pretty sure that in several European countries (I don't know much about the rest of the world) they appreciate women for their beauty, whatever their age. Italians certainly do.

Why do we portray women as sexually dead past the age of 30?

Do we really do this? Have you got any examples? Kate Moss is over 30. I wouldn't say she is portrayed as 'sexually dead'.

You've got me on the Carla Bruni one - I thought she was naturalized before as she lived in France as a child (though went to a Swiss boarding school). And as for women over the age of 30, 30 might be an exaggeration, but you have to admit in films especially, there aren't many great roles for women once they hit middle age and none that I can think of where they are portrayed as sexy character?

I'm with you Alaina, it is tough for women over 30 to be considered sexy. Although there are some women doing it brilliantly, Julianne Moore, would be a prime example - gorgeous spread in vogue recently and loads of new films coming out. But on the small screen I think it's less seen. And it's a shame because as we get older you always hear women say I was at my most confident at 30-something or now 40-something and that's because they have bigger things to worry about than the size of their ass I would hazard a guess. Having a child has made me worry less even though my body is not what it was. If I could go back to my pre-child self I'd say STOP WORRYING and wear the shortest dress you can find because you are not gonna have that ass forever. Shame I cant do that.
and as for being french, well it's in the water of course! lol
