I belong to a forum where people who love pets all do what they can to help, currently we are desparate for animal transporters, it is ideal if you happen to make either regular, occasional or one off journeys in your car.
All you need do is join the forum by registering and fill in the database, you get a PM if something in your area needs help - many of the animals being transported are being saved from 'death row'and if no transport is availabe to get them to safety they get PTS.
Many of the charities and groups pay some or all of your petrol too, and you get a background of the animal you are transporting. It is really rewarding and you would be doing so much good.
As well as transporters, also needed are fosterers for many rescued animals.
