Hi,

We have 2 cats aged 9years they both had access to a cat flap, now one cat is smaller than the other and the smaller one would go out fine and never ever peed in the house at all.
the bigger on on the other hand peed in 4 different places in the living room on our brand new carpet even twice when my oh was sitting there and she just looked at him.
She was checked at the vets and everything was fine.

We moved last year and they only now go out when we are here to have the door open and they have a litter tray, both cats have been fine even the bigger one and have been using the ltter tray perfect.
But last night we came downstairs to find a wee puddle on the mat by the front door and on the wooden floor, we did't see which one it was but we persume it wasthe bigger cat.
Touch wood there hasn't been anymore but we are just a bit worried as to why she has started again, i thought maybe it was because i hadn't got to clean the litter tray at that point? Any ideas how to stop her doing it or to get rid of the smell of cat urine.

Also she has become a nightmare at nighttime, in the old house they were shut in the kitchen over night where they had the cat flap to go in and out.
Now in the new house we don't have a door on the kitchen so they are free at night to room the house apart from the bathroom living room and spare bedrooms.
The bigger cat has taken to scracthing at the door at 3am and when i tell her off she goes away and comes back 5mins later and scrathes again and again, i thought she was hungry s i got a automatic food bowl to feed them early before im up but she still scratches.

Any ideas on how to stop the scrathing so early?
