My lovely old cat Oscar (he is 14) has got ear polyps in his left ear. He shakes his head and scratches away and it seems to cause him quite a bit of discomfort.
He saw the vet a bit ago and she had a look in his ear, she said they are not a problem at the moment but told me to keep an eye on them because they could become more problematic if they block his ear canal.
The thing is I don't really like looking in his ear because I don't like bending it back to look right in, like the vet does. I don't want to hurt him.
I think he needs to go back to the vet, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had had this with their cat and what the outcome was? I've looked it up a bit online and it seems to suggest that really they need removing, although our vet didn't mention this?
