Subject: 5 week old kitten
Hi,

ok, I have been a bit of a soppy bugger and have agreed to take in a 5 week old ginger kitten. its currently with the vets as it was in a terrible condition upon being rescued. Hopefully she should be well enough to come to her new home in the next day or so. haven't seen her yet but planning to later this evening (some cute pics will be uploaded soon).

anyway, I understand that at this age, she is far too young to have been separated from her mum. as her mum was dead beside her theres no option to put her back. has anyone taken on a cat so young? will i be required to give a special diet? normally I would feed just kitten food but feeling a bit worried about whether it can handle this yet. anything else to watch out for?

worried but excited, just hoping she pulls through at the vets!

Aw, the poor love - well done you for giving her a lovely home!

I'd just ask the vet if there are special dietary requirements when you pick her up, they'll definitely know what's best for the little thing.

Hotwater bottle with a ticking clock (to simulate the mummies warm body and heartbeat) - or is that just puppies?!

Ok, we have been given some mousse by the vets to feed her with. Its so funny, she just stuffs her head straight in and comes out covered!

I like the idea of something ticking, she loves to lay up under your chin and sleep, which is lovely but gets rather hot after while!

shes a lot better by the way, her eye seems quite damaged but the vets hope that over time this will heal. shes adorable though and so tiny!!
