Subject: Advice needed but i'm prob being silly!
Hi i've just got worried.
I had to phone my relatives in Surrey for advice.

I have a lumpy thing under my shoulder- armpit, it's red and it hurts when i touch it and feels quite hard. I immediately phoned my uncle and asked what i need to do?

I'm now waiting for a doctor's phonecall, just to make sure it's nothing serious and to put my mind at ease because i wondered if i was going to die?

Does anyone know anything about these strange hard lumps?

Doctor just phoned and said it's caused by having being ill having swollen glands and she had a name for it. But she said i need to go down to the surgery for 4.50 pm today because these thinks can develop into an absess and it can get quite nasty.

But i have had a sore throat and head cold over the last week and have beeen trying to treat it with strepsils and paracetamols.

I get this from time to time- also lack of sleep or not eating properly can do the same thing.

Its a reaction to an infection, your body is trying to fight and the result is that your glands swell- your glands are where your body tries to get rid of toxins, when they swell its normally as they are working over time trying to get rid of something.

We go through infections every day- its hard to believe as we don't get ill every day. The reason we don't get ill is that our bodies are used to expelling known toxins and reparing quicker then we are aware. When the infection becomes too much for our bodies to expell or recover from, one reaction is that our glands swell. You may also- (but not by any means always) notice a hightened temperature, eye-nose-throat issues, tiredness, weakness or muscle aches, stomach problems or headaches. Not everyone who falls ill gets swollen glands, just like not everyone who has swollen glands gets any of the above. It depends on how your body is trying to expell the toxins which have made you ill.
Blah blah blah

This seems to just be very minor but I would not take any chances. About ten years ago I had a hard lump just below my left breast. The dotor said it could become cancer if he did not remove it. I had the surgery to remove it. I don`t have any scar from that surgery. No one can see that I ever had the surgery. Fear of surgery may make us avoid seeing a doctor. I glad I did see a doctor before my lump became cancer.

My advice is to see a doctor just to be safe. blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.coachhandbagoutlet.info/

Hi thanks for all your posts.
Saw the doctor thurs night, and she said that the lump wasn't infected so didn't need any treatment. She said it was called something starting with "L........" I can't remember the name it was so difficult to pronounce. But she said people get them if they've been a bit Run Down.
Which is true to me because it's been a difficult year as i had to get over anxious worries and deal with lots of things, which i told the doctor, to which she replied "you'll have taken it out on yourself and you've got a lot of catching up to do." She was a very nice doctor and she made me feel good about myself because she said it is good that i'm now back at college 3 days a week and actually being able to go out to places without the anxiety affecting me as badly.

Summer 123 is right about what she says the symtons such as tiredness, muscle ache, blocked nose, sore throat are which i've experienced.

The other day just walking around the shops was quite tiring just after an hour and the strangest thing happened, i'd been at college finishing some work and i just all of a sudden broke out in tears, which i couldn't stop. I went back to see Kathryn my tutor and the tears just came on, i think because of all that's happened this year. This was yesterday, but today am feeling a bit better after going for a long walk with my two little dogs in my village. I dressed Bailey up in his little green parker jacket and he looked really cute. He's such a loving little dog who i got last year and at one point was the only little friend i had because i knew he understood me and that things weren't going so good. He's a little treasure he really is.
