Hi everyone Just looking for opinions really. I am on citalopram for the second time in my life and have been on it for over 9-months. I find my mental health is vastly improved and I am definitely happier on it; however(!) I have put on over 2 stone since I started back on the drug! I am baffled really as I eat a healthy diet (with occasional treats) although my exercise routine could be better I admit. The nurse at my practice has told me I must loose the weight before I hit 30 (I am 28) as it is harder to loose weight the older you get (sorry everyone, no offence meant there!). I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I was reading an article last night (funnily enough in "Now" magazine of all things) and there seems to be a link between depression/anti-depressants and weight gain. I have done a bit of research this morning and found this article
http://www.drugs.com/cons/Citalopram.html and one of the side-effects can be weight gain. Am I alone with this? Just wondering if I'm being a complete pigglet and not realising or if there is something in this? I swear I eat a balanced diet but I had to clear out my wardrobe the other day and got quite tearful over not being able to fit into some of my beautiful clothes! Any thoughts/recommendations would be appreciated? Also - I have a constant runny nose! Does anyone else get this or something else odd about me? It tends to be in the morning more - strangely in the hour after I've taken my tablet.

Is this my imagination? I have sneezing fits and everything! Sorry for long post. Love Bob x
