Subject: A little Tamiflu advice please..
I feel abit silly positng this because I am a Swine Flu cynic but here goes..

For the past 2 days I've had a cough (phlegmy in the morning but dry when I get up) runny/stuffy nose, swollen and sore throat, sinus pain, headache, sneezin, going from freezing cold to roasting in minutes and extreme tiredness

So basically all the symptoms of a bad cold..and Swine Flu.

I took the NHS online quiz and it's given me a reference number so that I can be given some Tamiflu. But I'm unsure whether I should get it as I'm not entirely convinced that I have Swine Flu (as when I'm up and about I don't feel like I have a cold - but the runny nose, sneezing, sore throat and sinus pain are still there - I just don't feel as rough) And I suffer ALOT from tonsilitis anyway so the two might not be connected.

But because I have the reference number, should I go and get it and then not take it just in case I do get Swine Flu in the future, because I won't be allowed anymore now I have the reference?

Like I said I'm such a cynic about the whole thing, but my "Swine Flu is a bad cold and barely anyone has it" and "you're gonna get it bad" sides are fighting each other.

The thing is they aren't swabbing anyone for it anymore, if you've got the symptoms you can get Tamiflu. If it's for yourself you can't go and get it anyway, you'll have to get someone else to get it for you, and you shouldn't be going out whilst you're ill. Why don't you phone the swine flu hotline or NHS Direct and ask them more? To be honest it only delays the symptoms for a day anyway and the side effects can be quite bad. And I certainly am not a advocate of buying drugs to take later, just in case. If you need them now, take them now.

Well I'm feeling alot better today, so I'm not planning on getting it (well getting someone to get it for me, as I wouldn't want to leave the house looking like this anyway )

My friend who was given Tamifliu was told by the helpline she could not take it now and use it when she thinks she might have it (as she was unsure about whether she had it aswell) and someone on the NHS site wrote that they were also told this - hence why I wasn't sure whether to do it.
