Stretching.
Try flexing your ankle by pulling your toes whilst lying with your leg straight. Or stand in front of a wall, about two feet away, lean forward so your hands are against the wall, with your heels on the floor and back and knees straight to stretch your legs.
Massaging the area can help, as can a heat pad. If you are exercising, it's important to warm up first by stretching to try and prevent cramp, as is taking adequate amounts of fluid.
