Subject: help planning my cycle...
Just after a bit of advice about when to expect my period.

Last month I came off Microgynon 30.
Since I started losing weight in May I've been horrible, truly horrible (snapping, crying, being angry for no reason) and feeling even worse - doctor said my symptoms sounded like depression but I'm hoping that it was a hormone imbalance due to less body mass and the same amount of hormone from the pill - it's slowly working!!

So...when I was on M30 I knew when to expect my period, but now I'm in the dark.
I know that everyone's cycles are different and it will take a few months to settle into a regular cycle after 5 years on the pill but how to you count your cycle? Do you count day one of your period?

Any help or site links would be lovely =)

This might be useful: http://www.fpa.org.uk/Information/Readourinformationbooklets/bodyworks

Scroll down until you get to the section on the menstrual cycle. Most women's cycles are 28 days, with the first day of your period being day one, and with ovulation around mid-cycle. As an example, my natural cycles are exactly 28 days, I bleed days 1-7, then again 21 days later (I used to be able to time the start of my period to the minute lol); ovulation would be around days 12-18.

It can take 6-12 months to settle into a regular cycle after coming off the pill do so do be aware of that. It might help to keep a diary if you're a little confused about where you are in your cycle, and that will also allow you to see a pattern emerging so it's easier to predict.

Hope that helps x

Thanks that's really helpful, going to have look at that website now.

I'm already making notes in my diary to try and see a pattern. As much as I now hate the pill, it was so much easier to plan. 6-12 months :sheesh:
