Subject: Is this acceptable? (not for the under 18's)
Hi all, I just wanted an insiders (so to speak) view on something. Bit of history first... My boyfriend has Cerebral Palsy and through the majority of our relationship he has been pretty healthy (as far as CP goes) apart from the odd little problem. In March this year he ended up in hospital as he couldn't move from the hips down, and after a lot of recovery he is now on crutches as he still can't use his right leg below the knee. He is opting for amputation so he can use it again. He has struggled with coming to terms with his lack of mobility after being quite a sporty guy. Now to the point.... Last week I accidentally came upon some websites that he had been using on his pc. Basically he has been going on these websites to talk dirty (very dirty) to women. When I asked him about it he said that since he's been on crutches people look at him differently, that when he goes out people either treat him as if invisible or stare at him. He said that he doesn't tell the women online about his disablilty and they treat him as before. He says he needs to do this until he's off the crutches for his self image. The thing is this isn;t the first time this has happened. I understand that he's finding his change in lifestyle difficult but I kind of feel like he's giving me an excuse that I can't oppose because I can't understand what it's like to be physically disabled. But I do understand some of the mental issues he's going through as I suffer from severe depression and low self-image especially. What do you guys think? Is this acceptable in the circumstances?

definately not acceptable. he is taking advantage of his disability and its likely that even after the amputation he will still use the same excuse to treat you this way. why does he feel the need to go to other women because they treat him differently? because surely if you ignored him or stared at him in a nasty way then he wouldnt want a relationship with you. dont stand for it hun. take control lol.

good luck
