Please join this live Web Chat with Model Laura Bailey on Monday 26th July between 1-2pm, who is supporting Campaign for trees with Velvet the soft, soft, soft tissue.

A new study from Velvet has exposed a national lack of knowledge when it comes to understanding trees and the vital role they play in our lives. Perhaps this lack of knowledge can be linked to the fact that people do not have enough trees in their local area, with 66% citing they would like more trees planted in their neighbourhoods.

For every tree used to make Velvet, three more are grown, which is why Velvet has launched Campaign for trees with charity, Trees for Cities, giving you the chance to nominate for your local area which you thinks deserve some beautiful greenery. (Visit www.velvettissue.com http://www.velvettissue.com/ to nominate your local area)

So please join in to discuss how trees are important to you and your every day and the nations attitude to being 'green', as well as any questions you have for Laura on juggling a busy career with home life and family. Post your questions in this thread now and remember to join us on Monday at 1pm for the live chat!

Hi Laura
The Campaign For Trees sounds like a great cause to be helping out with. Are you a city or country girl at heart? When living in the city how do you stay green? Will you be trying out the new London bicycle system?!
Also, it would be great to find out a few of your favourite eco fashion labels.

Many thanks x

I have three questions for Laura, but firstly I think it's great that she does so much for green causes with the platform of her clebrity.

How did you first become interested in ethical fashion?

Do you think ethical fashion can be just as sexy?

I've heard of clothes made from bamboo and hemp, do you find that the hippy-esque image of ethical fashion puts people off?

Huge thanks!

Hi Laura - I too wish there were more trees. Can you please explain more about Campaign for Trees - If I vote what do you get? Also, I have just started being a bit more 'green' fingered and started cleaning up my garden. Do you have any favourite flowers?

Thank you for answering!

I remember planting trees at my school, I think corporations should be encourage to pick a patch to plant trees in and get free advertising from the org who does this tree planting.

How do you think we can get more awareness about natural fibres into our regular stores especially as clothing shops do everything based around profit ad accessibility. How can we create pressure for shops to provide clothes in alternative materials?

Hi Laura,

Kim here, as a busy parent and career woman, how do you try to be 'green'?

What is your favourite park to take your kids to play??

Thanks Laura.

Hi Laura!

Our local council have planted loads of trees and plants etc in our local parks, but sadly they keep getting trashed by groups of kids, and aren't being looked after at all. Do you know if there are any schemes in place where members of the public can help the upkeep of their local green spaces, or whether it's possible to set something like this up? Maybe a bit of guerrilla gardening is in order...

Hi Laura, firstly, I love your style! - Do you have any hidden gems (in the form of shops) in London? Also I have just moved to London from the country (where trees are plentiful!) where do you recommend I go to find a quiet and green area?

Hi Laura,

Thankyou for joining us to chat! My grandchildren are starting to get to the age where I think they should be taught about being 'green' and helping the environment. They're 6 and 9, and I would love to get them enthusiastic and positive about recycling and so on. Have you got any tips as a mother for how I can make being green fun and exciting for them?
