Subject: Advice needed :(
Well as I've already mentioned in an earlier post I'm so stressed out right now with a lot of things, so I'm just looking for some advice.

I get told constantly I look to pale and tired. Also I feel like as soon as I hit the pillow for sleeping I'm up right away again even after nine hours sleep. I went to the docs and got a blood test and there was no signs of anything. So I've started taking multi vits but I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do to spruce myself up a bit. The amount of times I get asked if I have a hangover is not fun

Also I would like to know what ways you relax and how you destress. If there is any hobby you use to help you...?

Also I have really dry skin on my legs due to shaving and have such bad shaving rashes so just wondering what's the best thing to use. Also my legs get so itchy all the time

That's all for now I think...sure I'll think of more stuff to add. Thanks girlies x

hey chica

im sorry youre not feeling great - considering everything youre going through, i would tell these people to shove their comments up their arses!! HOWEVER, that doesnt stop you feeling %&*$#. if you want my opinion, youre absolutely gorgeous.. but i know however much people tell you, it doesnt change how you feel...so my suggestions are;

could you get your hair done or have a trip to a salon and just be pampered? just have some YOU time and really treat yourself? maybe have a facial or a manicure, etc. just so you feel better about yourself.

have you tried exercise to pick your mood up a bit? it doesnt have to be anything too strenuous, you could go for a swim to chill out, or do a yoga class? again, its something else so you can set some time aside for yourself..

i dont have any advice for your dry legs really.. except i have a great exfoliator (sp?) from the Naked product range, its nearly 100 percent natural so doesnt tend to irritate, and may be worth a try, if youre not using one already?

keep your chin up rainy.. xxx

Chasin' YOU are under a hell of a lot of pressure too at the moment, don't expect too much of yourself right now, the worry, not just stress will drag you down. Multi vits are a good move and should help but will take a while til you feel any benefits, what about hermal remedys to help sleep? Wish you & your mom well,

For a quick external fix spritz on some fake tan, like sddr said, go get your hair done or a facial. Or have a night at home with face masks, paint your nails, a long bath and a good book/film to help you escape for a bit. You could have a nice girly night with your mum.

You're under so much stress right now that its normal you're not resting properly when you're asleep. Camomile tea helped me with my insomnia so you could try that. Instead of just lying down and trying to go to sleep, lie there a little while concentrating on your breathing and trying to clear your mind. Write everything down so you're not lying there thinking over and over.

If you feel its all getting on top of you, take 15mins out and have a cup of tea and tell anyone who says you look hungover to stick it where the sun don't sun. Take care hun x

Hey Rainy

Glad to hear you are looking after yourself hon. Hopefully those multi vits will start to kick in and make a difference. I take Berocca and find that really helps.

I think some pampering would def be a good idea, getting your nails done or your hair cut.

Also agree with rolly on the exercise front. It really does help to give you a lift - both physically and mentally. Yoga, pilates, swimming good for relaxation. Have you ever played any team sports or badminton anything like that?

Exercise is actually the best thing to do, when you are stressed, you produce adrenalin and cortisol, stress hormones that build up in your muscles, they are produced cos when we lived in caves, they helped you run and escape mammoths or whatever was chasing you. If you dont use them up through exercise, they knock round your system stressing you out
i also agree that fake tan is the best mask to hide behind in the meantime.
get some B vitamins as stress uses them up very quickly. and listening to your favourite music very loudly and singing along badly helps for me
look after yourself Rainy.

I agree with the pampering, what about having a bath with some essential oils in it or drop some lavendar oil on your pillow to help you relax. I find reading helps too, nothing too heavy but a light chick lit helps me to relax and more importantly takes you out of your own head and into someone else's world, definitely something we all need to do when we're particularly stressed.
Do you keep a diary, rainy? Writing down your thoughts can help to de-stress and I think with everything that's going on with your mum at the moment you need to be getting out those thoughts, whether they be good or bad.
Glad you're trying to look after yourself hun.

Agree with the light reading! That works wonders for me when I'm stressed. Also on the lavender too - burning essential lavender oil in your bedroom before you go to bed is really nice.

Thanks for all your comments I will defintely take them on board. I got my hair done a couple of weeks ago and that did help and I did all my nails etc tonight and had a really long shower. I do feel a little better but it tends to take half the day for me to feel alright then about 2 hours later I'm knackered again. I do the wii fit quite a lot and that helps me feel a little bit destressed. So I will try more things. I just want a quick pick me up really...dont know if they actually exist lol. x

hi chasey, i was going to suggest using the wii fit in my first post... theres a game that you can get thats solely based around the yoga, it looks really good and i was thnking of getting it. perhaps you could try it out? i find the yoga really relaxes me and is good for me too!!..although saying that, i think all the games on wii fit are really good and i can play for hours!!!

hope youre feeling okay today honey, take care xx

Hi Chasin_Rainbows

I can vouch for the badminton working!
I have quite a long commute from work by train which means I can quite often be tired and grouchy (especially if surrounded by rude people with their loud ipods etc!) so i'll often end up dragging myself down to my badminton club feeling decidedly stressed and down.....but after playing a few good, fast games i'll come out with a big smile on my face, happy as Larry!

I also get dry skin on my legs really easily (though that was my own fault for getting them burnt badly on holiday years ago ) but i'm afraid I can't help on that one as i tend to just slap moisturiser on as a quick fix. I'm useless at deciding what products might help me and at spending money on more expensive ones!

I tend to get quite dry legs and find e45 cream helps quite a bit, you do need to put it on every day for a few days before you notice the difference but it should help.

Also last year I was stressed with my final year exams, having 5 or 6 nightmares a night etc, and my aunt recomended 'avena sativa' - its a herbal remedy used for lots of things (so dont be alarmed if you research it on the net and some weird things come up lol) made out of oats and it worked wonders! Really helped me sleep and definitely helped me de-stress. You just take 20 drops of it in a glass of water in the morning and evening and its purely herbal. You can get if off the internet (make sure it's from a reputable source like A Vogel) or any herbal shop like Victoria Health. Boots don't do it i'm afraid. It takes a couple of days to kick in but i took it for about 3 months and it really helped, and as it was only herbal i didnt have to worry about taking it for so long,

Really hope things get better for you
xxx

PS if you do get avena sativa, it tastes a bit gross so make sure you have another drink of juice etc ready to have afterwards!
