I posted on my relationships thread about going to A&E last night, i went back to the early pregnancy unit this morning and asked for a scan, i thought i was being a bit silly as the bleeding was very sparse and not red, but the scan showed the baby died at 7.5 weeks and that i am starting to miscarry
i was very upset in the hospital, but im ok - very disappointed and a bit shaky but ok, i've just got to decide if i want nature to take its course or go in for a an op. Any advice would be appreciated on that. She wouldnt say her preference, so mine is to not have an op, but she said its going to be very painful and distressing, which is scaring me. I do feel scared. And worried i wont conceive again

I dont often post here but i had to when i read this Nato, sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I have no practical advice to offer you regarding what to do right now. Maybe talk to your doctor again to get more details and go with your own instinct.

Thank you Shibby, much appreciated. Im going to give myself a couple of days and see how i feel. The cramping seems to be getting worse but i dont know if thats how im perceiving it now i know whats going on. i can take nurofen now. And i can take vodka too.
the other thing is i was supposed to go straight up to the radiographer for them to look at the swelling and bruising on my arm from the stupid woman in A&E who left a tourniquet on my arm for 2 hours in case i have DVT, but i got so upset i left the hospital and totally forgot till i got home.

Hi Nato I'm so sorry to hear you going through this. I don't have any experience of this so can't offer any advice really. But if the pain gets too difficult then maybe have a re-think?
Be very gentle to yourself and think of you and your needs and good for you for meeting wau later.

Nato honey, wanted to post here too. I'm so so sorry to read this.
Is your husband home to look after you? It does sound like your arm needs looking at, but I can imagine that the last thing you want is to go back out or go back to the hospital. Is there someone who can go with you hon when you feel ready?

Main thing is to take it easy.
Most people who have a miscarriage will go on to have a perfectly healthy baby, so try not to worry about that! Miscarriages are very common, most people just don't talk about them.

Nato, I'm so sorry to read this. Are you taking some time off work to give yourself some time to process it? I don't know which option is better, but either way both have the same painful outcome so I don't think there's a better option out of the two, just as long as you choose the one that's right for you. I'm sending mega hugs your way and thinking of you. x

I have never been through a miscarraige, so can't advise on the surgical/natural question, but I think the point to take to heart right now is that you are certain that you are now able to conceive (and quite quickly from what a remeber - four months or so?). Don't lose sight of this. One of my best friends miscarried twice before delivering my precious godson and god daughter, and there are literally thousands of similar experiences.
I just looked up some stats and miscarriage reportedly occurs in 20 percent of all pregnancies...that's one in five. I don't know if that makes you feel better.
There is not much I can say without feeling like I am mouthing platitudes sweetie, so will send a huge hug down the wire for you instead. even though you won't like it!
