Subject: leftover cabbage?
Hi
I bought a cabbage at the weekend - used it for calcannon, then bubble and squeak cakes and soup and still have loads left and would like to use it up - without buying lots of ingredients to go with it
any ideas

Hi

Its really nice with caraway seeds and single cream. Fry some onion with caraway seeds, then add shredded cabbage, then add some single cream. I think that's all that goes into it!

Cabbage sandwich ??
That must have been one helluva cabbage if you've done all that and STILL got loads left !!
It;ll keep in the fridge for ages, wrapped up, so just eat it later in the week.

Ooh, I love catuptree's suggestion! You could also make coleslaw with the leftover cabbage [as already mentioned]. Or, you could just boil some of the cabbage and add some potatoes & carrots. With added bacon, it is a very popular Irish dish.
