As Stickle has transformed into the doting housewife and is too busy plaiting her hair to start the weekend thread looks like it's up to me [http://community.handbag.com/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif]

What's everyone up to?

Not much planned over here, have been so hot all week stuck in an oven of an office have just been feeling vile so an easy one for me I think. Not been near my horse all week so will go down tonight for the Friday glass of wine and catch up. Got some lamb steaks for tea tonight, think I'll do them with either a couscous salady thing or pita and watercress with a yogurty herby dressing.

Tomorrow is the farmers market that I keep meaning to go to but never make so we'll see what the morning brings, after the usual lie in with Jimbo of course. Have still got the lovely red snapper we were going to have the other night but I forgot to get out of the freezer so that's Saturdays tea, if it's nice then it would just be rude not to put it on the bbq. Not sure what to do with it though [http://community.handbag.com/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-undecided.gif]

Sunday I'm not sure yet, haven't got that far. Looks like it is about to lash it down any minute, not sure what the forecast is for this weekend so a lot will depend on that.

Hope everyone has a good one [http://community.handbag.com/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/wine2.gif]

Much the same really - no firm plans for me. Depends on the weather to be honest - I'd like to go for a (gentle) walk in the Lakes at some point. We are trying to not spend money!!

I have some sausages out for tonight, which I think I'll just do with a simple onion gravy, baby potatoes and some veg. No cooking mojo today.

Tomorrow night MrPink is going out so it'll probably be a quick pizza before he goes out or I may treat myself to some nice M&S goodies, and snuggle up with the dog. Sunday night we are getting together with friends for an Indian.

I am planning on taking things a bit easier so hope to read my book and try to relax...

Have a nice weekend girls x

This weekend is pretty busy and I am making myself use what is in the house as a bit of an economy drive so it could be a ready steady cook weekend!

Today watching the tennis and cleaning the house. I have to do something involving mushrooms today as they are starting to go past their best, I also have cous cous left so think it might be salmon with that and some broccoli.

Tomorrow, gym, opticians and painting under the stairs. Not sure what is going on later but fancy fajitas.

Sunday - swimming. Watching the tenis with some friends with strawberries, cream and Pimms. I am then off to see Madonna I think (needs to be confirmed) courtesy of one of our suppliers. I really hope I am going as it's bound to be a fantastic show.

Have a good weekend all.

Wow, can't say I'm one of her hugest fans but I bet that will be an amazing show.

TP M&S goodies and a snuggly doggie night sounds fab, just wish mine weren't so smelly at the moment!

Mincing housewife ready for duty

Couldnt get onto stupid bag until now ((((

Weekend is relaxed for me. I've been vomitting for a whole day now due to the heat and I'm wiped out. I couldnt eat any of the delicious BBQ we had last night, so today, I'm going to try and shovel something down. I've got lamb cutlets marinaded in garlic, olive oil, rock salt and rosemary - and chicken bits in soy and honey. There's also a flagolet bean salad with a dressing of anchovies, garlic, lemon and fresh herbs leftover. MrS took today off - but %&*$# at work are already calling him and he's having to put in a full day (((((

Hopefully not doing much. And I'm praying for rain. It's far too hot here and I'm dying

Enjoy your weekend all )

Tonight I'm just off to the gym after work (despite my arse sorry glutes killing me from a couple of days ago, TMI I know). I have a piece of lemon sole in the fridge that couldn't be bothered to cook last night, so I'm going to ask Mr Google for something interesting to do with it, unless any of you lot have any bright ideas?

Tomorrow I'm off to Staffordshire to see some good friends at the pub that they run. Friend's partner is American but they're not doing a 4th July theme this year, in fact we'll probably go out to lunch tomorrow afternoon as although the pub does lovely food, they like to get out and go to other places when they can. Although I'm looking forward to some of their home-made chips which are officially To Die For. Could happily munch my way through a huge bowlful and nothing else...

Sorry you're feeling rubbish stickle, hope you feel better soon. Everyone have good weekends!

Doesn't sound much fun sitckle, but that bean thing sounds lush, hope you manage some.

DJ I like my lemon sole either grilled or lightly dusted in flour and pan fried, served with a wedge of lemon and some tiny new potatoes swimming in butter and parsley. Lemon sole is so lovely you dont need to mess with it much, although my friends mum did used to do a nice tyoe of parcel rolly thing with it, stuffed with prawns and baked in a foil parcel with white wine and butter.

I like lemon sole really simple. Grilled. But you can also coat it with fine breadcrumbs and parsley and parmesan and then pan fry it. Serve with a simple salad.

Up to Derbyshire to see Mr EK this weekend. We're biking on the least rainy day, looking for a road bike for me on the other day.

Going up on the coach tonight as I can't afford the train - 4 HOURS!!!!

Anyway, I am making Leon's Superfood salad for lunch (broccoli, peas, avocado, cucumber, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, alafallalalalalaala sprouts, quinoa and feta with lashings of olive oil and lemon). For dinner I am making poached halibut with garlic, parsley and lemon served with asparagus and new potatoes. For dessert, I'll be making my very first strawberry iced terrine (cream, yogurt, strawberries, meringue etc...).

Hi all, hope you've all had good weekends.

I've had a very non-foody weekend and just been eating crap - Friday night went to a friend's for a catch up and we ended up ordering a pizza - NORTY! Yesterday I had a bit of work to do, again just picked at crap all day and had oven chips and beans for tea (would put embarassed smiley here if I could be arsed). Was visiting another friend in her new flat last night so more wine was consumed. Today I made myself a toasted wholmeal roll with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon but that's about the only proper food I've had this weekend. Took Fred to a fun day thing at a local park today, it was for charity and they had a dog show - only a fun one - and Fred came 5th in the 'waggiest tail' competition and got a rosette, do that was very cute. I've got some pork loin steaks out for tonights tea - not my favourite things but they were in the freezer needing using. Trying to decide what to do with them, I'm going to have them with a ton of veg to try and make up for all the rubbish eating!
What's so good about another person anyway? All they do is manhandle your boobs and eat all the ham.

Hope you all had lovely weekends, ladies. I've been a bit busy - away at NCT conference last weekend of June and then building up to Alexandra's 3rd birthday, which was yesterday.

So not much foodie activity at all - Alexandra's party was at a playcentre so all pizza, sausage, sarnies, sausage rolls and icecream. Oh and cake! Alexandra has been rabbiting on for months about having a cake like Matthew's (from Costco) so we ordered her a balloon one (her choice), was excited when she saw it, loved blowing out candles and since, has not had more than a bloody mouthful of it.

mr kateab is starting a new job in two weeks and will be home every night (yay!) so let's hope this gives me more chance to cook properly.
