Subject: Just dont know how to put things together! Any help out there?
Ok so here's the problem, I have loads of clothes but I just dont know how to put them together! It probably sounds weird but I just dont feel like I have a certain "style" so my look changes regulary, hence all the clothes! Has anyone any suggestions on what capsule set peices every girl should have in her wardrobe? Also I have lots of accessories, belts etc but when I put them together with something it just doesnt look right - I feel like I have lost my sense of style! Somebody help please!

I think most of us feel as you do sometimes!
The good thing is that if you have loads of clothes it means you can mix and match and create lots of new outfits. It's good to take cues from fashion websites and magazines as well to inform your own style and get inspiration.
I often find that wandering around clothes shops helps as you can see how they put outfits together and it can help you to visualise how you could put outfits together based on your own wardrobe. This works really well for me (but admittedly I do think I have a knack for it - I'd like to go into fashion styling as a career to be honest!) You can find some beautiful pieces in vintage shops that can really set your style apart so I'd definitely recommend giving them a try (if you don't already).
Also, sometimes I find myself daydreaming, walking down the street in London for example on my way to work, and I will see someone who looks great and has their own individual style. I'll make a mental note of it and then in my mind I'll interpret their outfit using clothes that I have in my own wardrobe. I go for an edgy but girlie look so I tend to remember outfits worn by people who go for a similar style and I create new styles with that in mind using clothes I have already but sometimes adding the odd accessory that I buy to finish the outfit off.
In answer to your question the classic capsule wardrobe should of course include a little black dress, a nice white shirt or blouse, a good pair of blue jeans, a mac, a pair of black heels, black trousers and a well cut suit jacket. I'd also have a denim jacket in there as well but that's just me! I also own a few girlie flowery dresses as they are great in the summer and still very much on trend. Girlie, flowery dresses are also a good starting point for building up your own outfit. You can wear them with denim jackets and flats, or heels and a nice jacket.
Anyway, hope this helps. Good luck with recreating your own style!

Get some great basics, is where I start in the shop.
Great jeans and some good under pinning tops. You need to be ruthless about what you have in your wardrobe and get organised.

You donlt need to sytle as such, and as Bizzie says, we all feel like that, esp when you;re younger.

You have to have a look at your life style and what will in reality, work for you - its no good, going off downa route that sin;t right for where you are in your life.

I think alot of people shop for how they'd like to be rather than in the here and now and thats when clothes just get abandonded in the wardrobe.

Most shops have a season that you will like and so, if you have a look round and buy key things from that look and range, it'll give you a tied in look to your clothes. I think you're prob too old to shop at L Ashley, but they are v good for getting items that team togther, but that you can them add stuff to from elsewhere. Mind, there are entire seasons that I would not buy a thing from them, so it depends.

If you are after a more togther look, then you need to concentrate more on one shop, in season .
Well dang, I found my original profile and sign in ! Tis me !
