happy new year! Lomie, I thought of you having to work last night - hope it wasn't too awful! Good I'm off to London tomorrow to see my mum and I can't wait! Christmas round two! :xtree: Had a lovely evening last night just chilling with Mr P, but this was the first year I didn't get even the slightest bit emotional over the new year arriving. I must be getting harder in my old age! Bad Mr P is still in bed! he's feeling a bit sorry for himself - we drank quite a few champagne cocktails last night and he doesn't normally drink - I had to get up at 7am to get him water and pain killers as his 'whole body hurt' hahaha! The boiler's been making some awful noises in the morning, and I fear we're going to need to get a new one. Great start to the year.

theres usually a dial or sometimes digital and it'll say 'bar',make sure the pressure isnt near 0 or your heating will go off,if the noise is coming from the radiators it might be an airlock, low water in water tanks causes noises in the heating system too!(check me out, plumber!!)I recommend a site I found the other week called videojug, they have tutorials on DIY.I'm so rock 'n' roll!!!

I've been a bit lax with posting to the 2008 thread recently so here's to a more involved 2009! Lomie, poor you having to work. I hope you have a few days off to make up for it? I've been reading your recent threads about M-a-W and I am very happy for you! We really must arrange that East London meet soon! Popoki, I know exactly how you feel. My OH is lying on the sofa moaning because he 'needs' me go to the shop to buy him milk for some tea. I've already had to bring him chicken soup and help him get dressed I hope you have a wonderful second Christmas with your mum and that the boiler just needs a few tweaks :fingers: Good I have a job that I've worked towards for years, a gorgeous OH, an amazing family, a beautiful cat and my financial position isn't bad (disregarding my 10k student debt!). My health has been good recently and I really am very very lucky. I had a lovely Christmas. Everyone loved the presents I bought and I loved having the money to spoil people, I was also quite spoilt in return! I met some more of my OH's family over Christmas, including his very cute nieces and nephews, and our parents met at a theatre trip on Tuesday which went really well. I am in Brighton til Sunday, which is the longest we've stayed here since August. Our London place is essentially a studio and so cramped, it's lovely to be able to move around indoors and to see the sea again! Bad Work is fine but I don't love it. I'm hoping that will come as I get a bit less rubbish but I'm worried that if not several years down the line I'm going to have to make a difficult decision about where to go next. My goal is to buy a house in the next 5 years and I just can't see that happening if I take a substantial pay cut. things are still a bit on and off with my OH, we have huge fights about silly things but I just can't imagine not being with him and all our attempts at breaking up have totally failed. Because it's my first serious relationship I can't tell how much is me just being stupid. I want a dog sooooooooo much. And I just can't see it happening for years and years :boohoo: All very trivial really!

Ms I - Good to hear you sounding so positive, even your bads don't sound so bad I wouldn't worry about the arguments about stupid things Mr Pink and I have them and we've been together 9 years! yesterday we argued about the way I had put his hoody to dry On a general note I am just so looking forward to 2009 I have so much to look forward to, none of which I would've thought possible at this time last year. I am really lucky and grateful for everything I have Good- Just been to the gym and did a hardcore workout, coupled with the fact that the heating on the gym is on the blink and the actual gym part is BOILING..I looked a bit like this :tomatoc: by the end! - am going for New Years Day buffet at the in laws later :munch: - viewing a house on Saturday :fingers: its alright really want to get the house situation sorted now as we want to be moving by end of February which isnt that far away!! - Going shopping for housey bits on Saturday too with our Xmas vouchers from my work..(not actually having house yet minor technicality ) - Our holiday to Whitby on Monday :yay: - It is all snowy and lovely outside :xcool: Bad - None!!!

Qop I am very glad to hear it's not just us. I've tried to keep up with reading this thread over the last few months and I can't tell you how happy I am to read about your and mr qop's plans for the next year. I hope you find a lovely place to live :fingers: Sorry to hear you didn't have a great 2008, LouLou. I hope that the doctor can find a medicine that helps and good luck with getting the credit cards paid off, it's such a vicious circle - my boyfriend was very stupid with loans/credit cards before I met him and it's scared us both into being sensible. Hopefully 2009 will bring you some happiness, the bannoffee pie is a good start! I've just remembered one other bad I look disgusting at the moment, I've put on a crazy amount of weight and can't fit into most of my clothes. I *hope* it was mostly due to the pill I was on because my habits haven't changed much in the last few years but I am going to be working very hard at the gym over the next few weeks, asthma permitting.

Feel for you having to work last night Lomie, and congratulations on being the first poster Hope you enjoy London pops! The hunky cameraman didn't get up til 3pm today, aren't they lightweights? Hope your boiler's nothing serious too. I wouldn't worry about bickering MsI, I've found it in every relationship, and especially when you live in a small place. Enjoy the Brighton space too! Good luck with the house viewing QoP Sorry to hear you're so exhausted LouLou, hope you get plenty of rest. It might be worth checking out the Money Saving Expert forums...loads of inspiration and advice on debts there.

Good - I had a really lovely NYE, and it's the first year in a long long time that I've not felt sad or depressed about the coming year. I think that says a hell of a lot about whether I made the right choices last year. - Enjoying chilling out and having lots of lazy days before work starts in Jan (still not got my start date, but it'll turn up before I know it!!) - Even if my start date doesn't appear, I've worked out that I can afford to live until April before I'm in the sh*t...although this means no spending whatsoever, other than bills and essentials. - I finally have central heating :yay: :yay: :yay: it is SO good not to be shivering under layers of clothes and blankets. - Looking forwards to making veggie burgers with homemade salsa for dinner - Got 20 worth of vouchers to spend in B&Q which means I'll be able to treat myself to little touches that need finishing, and be able to get my radiator paint for free! - I have an amazing family and fabulous friends, and I am really very blessed. And the hunky cameraman might be mr non-commitment, but he's really very sweet and lovely and treats me an awful lot better than the ex did might not last, but I'm enjoying it whilst it does.

Happy New Year everyone! Hope work wasn't too bad last night Lomie. Have fun with your mum popoki. Enjoy the rest of your time in Brighton MsI. Glad you had a good Christmas. Hope the viewing goes well QoP! Hope 2009 is a much better year for you LouLou, hope the doctor can help next week. Glad all is going well for you bibbitybob! Good: One of my best friend's had a baby boy yesterday afternoon The last time I saw her she was saying New Years Eve would be a good day to have a birthday so she timed it very well! Had a lovely Christmas, I feel very lucky to be off work for two weeks and Mr K has been off the whole time too which has made it even better Got a nice day planned for tomorrow after a very lazy few days, going out for breakfast then shopping, then maybe to the coast for fish and chips! Feeling quite happy with my wardrobe and am determined to enjoy wearing what I have and not buy huge amounts this year. We'll see how that works out! Bad: Still the same worries about Mr K's job but we'll just have to see what happens when he goes back next week... Have to go to work on Monday, have got used to being a lady of leisure

Happy New Year to everyone! Bads: - I met the not-so-single boy on Tuesday for lunch and have told him to make a decision by the time we're back as it's just too much of a head-messing up situation, and it's just wrong. I have a very strong gut feeling I'm not going to end up with him though, so am a bit meh about it at the moment. Goods: - Going back to uni on Sunday, am so looking forward to getting back in the flat, and just being with friends that I've not seen over the holidays. - The boy situation mentioned above will be decided once and for all. - Have done quite a bit of uni work over the past few days and feel have accomplished quite a bit so am feeling quite positive about going back! Here's hoping to a fab 2009!
