Subject: Wearing gold and silver jewellery together?
Hi All,
Just wondered what your thoughts are on mixing up silver and gold jewellery. For some reason I always thought you shouldn't do it or is that no longer the case? I usually wear either matching silver jewellery or just gold jewellery instead of combining the two. Mainly silver as I think it suits me better and I have more of those, but perhaps I should mix it up more? What do you think?

Hi IvorySnow!

I think wearing gold and silver jewellery together is fine! As long as they are both not strong pieces in their own right. I normally wear a chunky silver ethnic cuff with a very fine gold necklace and it doesn't clash at all. I sell jewellery at www.tinglow.etsy.com http://www.tinglow.etsy.com and I like to think my gold and silver jewellery can be mixed and matched. I think if there is a piece of jewellery which is very wearable (for example a necklace you wear everyday), you can pretty much pair it with anything gold or silver.

Hope that helps!

Tx

I have to say that personally I don't mix yello gold jewellery with silver (I think silver suits me better as well) as I think that they clash too much. I don't know if this helps at all

I don't think you should mix silver and gold jewellery together - it looks wrong.

Select the jewellery depending on what colours you are wearing. So if you are wearing cool colours, silver or white gold looks great. If you are wearing warm colours - red, tan, rust, etc, gold jewellery really adds to the look.
