[http://community.handbag.com/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/dummy.gif]Hi Girls

Lots of us have now had our babies and a few more are imminent, i thought i would start a thread for general chit chat and any questions/problems we have, and just a general catch up.

Would love to hear what your babies are up to and the new and exciting things they are doing everyday [http://community.handbag.com/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/dummy.gif]

Good idea as this forum had gone a bit dead.

Jack is now 10 weeks old. At the moment he's lying in front of me dozing on his playmat wapped in his kiddopotamus swaddle me blanket. I urge everyone to get one of these, it's like a straight jacket for babies! LOL but they do seem to love it and Jack sleeps right through the night in his. I went and bought the large size one for when he's a bit bigger.

He had his first jabs last week which was more traumatic for me than him! I couldn't look.

Oh he's waking up and trying to do a houdini out of the swaddle....

Good idea

Jack and Liam are now 10 weeks old now which I can't believe sometimes. Jack is now weighing in at 10lbs 5ozs and Liam is 10lb 2ozs and they are both still in newborn clothes lol. They are doing more and more each day. Both started smiling a few weeks ago if a rattle was shaken in front of them but they are now starting to smile when I talk to them or smile at them. They are starting to go 5 or 6 hours at night now. We had a problem were they both would start screaming at 8pm everynight until their next feed at 10pm and nothing could get them to settle but it's getting better now and last night they were bathed, fed, in bed and asleep by 8.15pm which is a record as they just won't settle. It's hard work looking after 2 newborns but I wouldn't swap being a mummy for anything. I've turned into one of those mums who takes a picture of their children the least thing they do lol. I have over 900 pictures of them already and they are only 10 weeks old lol

Oooh we should have a photo thread too!

Natalie, i take my hat off to you! I can't believe how much work one baby is, never mind two! My granny had twins , then she had my dad 18 months later! Plus she had 4 kids who were older than the twins by just a few years(and there was a war on!)

I am nervous about having twins as they run in my family, so it is good to hear you are coping well with your two!

I love seeing babies swaddled. Its so comforting for them, and also very cute to see.

We should definately have a photo thread!

The hardest thing is when the cry at the same time or both want their feed at the same time but you soon perfect the art of picking them both up at once or feeding them both at the same time. My baby swings have been my life saver sometimes. One of the hardest things is when I get up for the 2am absolutely knackered and half asleep. I change, feed, burp and put down one baby then instead of going back to bed I have to start all over again with the other one.

Chocolatejo I was so nervous about coping with them but you amaze yourself with how well you do. You just have to. But honestly it's amazing having twins and worth every minute of hard work, even if you have to allow an extra hour to any shopping trip to allow for people stopping you lol. I love putting them together and letting them interact with each other and I feel lucky to have them. Knowing what I know now I'd actually choose to have twins. Am I mad?

Hi all

Congratulations on your lovely babies. I'm just delurking to say to Natalie that I'm really pleased to hear how much you love having the twins, as I remember when you first found out there were two of them and you were freaked weren't you, understandably! It's lovely to hear that you have settled into things and taken to it so well. It sounds as though you're handling motherhood brilliantly!

Going back to lurking again...

Ilana is now 2 weeks 6 days and piling on the weight from the booby juice! She's gone from 7lb 12oz at birth to 10lb 1 1/2 oz today... She is feeding on demand but generally (jinxing myself here) sleeps in chunks at night, and the last 2 nights has slept from 10pm til 4.30am. We are in love but it has been hard getting here - breastfeeding is bloody hard at first - why does noone tell you how hard? I don't mean the actual feeding, just how constant and all-consuming it is!

Hi foxy

glad everythings going well for you, have you heard much from stickle? not seen her on much, but not suprising, tiring work this motherhood malarky hehe I love it though

Amelie is now 4 weeks old, shes gaining weight steadily, put on about a pound and a half since birth.

she's much more aware, if i lie her on her changing mat she lifts her head up and holds it up. shes also awake alot longer in the day but is a really good sleeper at night, she has bottle about 10 then wakes up at 4 then up at 8/9 usually, so cant complain at all

going out is still a bit challenging, remembering everything, but even if we dont go anywhere important we make sure we go for a walk everyday, a bit of fresh air for Am and some exercise for me!!

Hope your all well

This is the first time I have posted on here, been a pregnancy and birth poster but now my little bundle is finally here better get myself on here. Well my little lad is 2 weeks tommorrow. Its been a mad 2 weeks. For the majority of the time I have enjoyed it, a small amount of time I have been a bit weepy, especially when we first brought him home from hospital and I thought I had brought a different baby home - he wouldnt settle at all that first night, bless him, he didnt have a clue where he was. After that though we have done really well, he only wakes up 2-3 times now for a feed and a change of nappy and after a little cuddle he is back down again. I take him to bed at 9ish and I go to bed too, because I can get a few zzzz in before his first feed then.

The biggest bit of progress so far has been he didnt cry when we bathed him yesterday. When he first started having baths he would kick off till he could hardly breathe for crying, but he was even kicking his legs yesterday. He seemed to almost enjoy it.

Its hard work but I love it. Its the best job in the world.

Finley is now 10 weeks old - where has that time gone. I'm loving being a mum, much more than I ever thought I would; maternity leave is great.

I find it easier being out and about with Finley than at home, I think I am trying to do too much when at home but when out or at friends houses I am spending more time with Finely which he loves. Flutterby, I find as long as I have a few wipes, a spare nappy and a muslin for feeding in my handbag I'm sorted and just leave these in my bag so I don't need to worry about remembering them when we go out - don't worry too much about bringing every bit of crap with you.

Finley is such a good baby, over the past couple of weeks he's started to now only waking once at night instead of every two hours which is a relief. However, I don't mind the waking at night as he feeds and goes straight back to sleep and as he's right next to me I don't even leave the bed.

The only problem I have had is that he will not take a bottle, at all. I don't want to give him formula so it's expressed milk but he just doesn't realise that he can drink from the bottle. We've tried different bottles, people, times, methods, temperatures but nothing works. We are thinking about trying cup feeding and wondered if anyone had any success with this? I am hoping to go back to college next Monday, it's only three hours a night but if he refuses to take to a bottle or cup I'll not be able to leave him!
