Im not sure if im posting this in the right place but here goes!
I was 5 days late for my period but came on and it was pretty normal, not too heavy. However, I was in wilkos today and just had a gut feeling to buy a pregnancy test. Got home and did it and didnt think anything of it. Looked at it a couple of minutes later and the was a really faint line in the test window. I dont know what to make of this. Am i pregnant or not? has anyone experienced this?

Do you have any reason to suspect you are pregnant? What I mean is:
i) Have you been having unprotected sex?
It could be an evaporation line or it could be a positive result.
If you are possibly pregnant, try again in the morning with your first wee of the day.
For me, the line came up before I'd even finished my pee, no messing!

Upload it to tinypic... If you are very late for your period the line would probably be fairly dark although you may have ovulated late.

I'd say def NOT pregnant. But, go to the docs and get it checked out for sure.

That's not strictly true.. if you test before or when your period is due then the line can be faint.. the more hormone produced by the body the darker the test goes.
That looks like a positive result and not a evaporation line... to be sure you need to take another test.

Yes
The test picks up the hgc hormone.. the hormone is needed to sustain the pregnancy... the bigger the pregnancy grows the more hormone is needed http://www.craigmedical.com/hcg_system_amount.htm
If you test at 4 weeks pregnant (at 2 weeks post conception) then the hormone needed to sustain a pregnancy the size of a full stop basically is a lot less than is needed for a 40 week fetus.
The best pregnancy test result for a dark line would be about 6-7 weeks after the date of the first day of the last period.. testing before or on the date period is due would result in a faint line.
