There is ridiculous amounts of spam on these forums lately. When there's only about 3/4 posts a day on a sub-forum, and 2 are spam it makes it hard to be bothered to stay around

It's frustrating me to hell... the only thing to do atm is to hit the ignore button on the bottom of the posts and the spammer will vanish from your view.
At least we know admin are ignoring the spammers as much as they're ignoring us.
It would be adding insult to injury if they were getting preferential attention
As TRD says, if you "ignore" the spammer it'll solve the problem in the short term. If you can take the time to click the report button before you do, I can then put a mass block on them for everyone else.
Lol- thats one way of looking at it- must admit though, I've only recently joined the forums and the lack of staffing or professional advice or assistance on her really suprizes me- and outs me off remaining here for much longer... I'm hoping its a temporary thing and they'll sort it out ASAP but guess I'll just have to wait and see.
I did TRY doing the 'report abuse' thing for spam on the beauty boards, but most of the time it doesn't seem to go away - it just stays there. And as the boards are so very quiet, sometimes it can stay there for days and days, so I stopped even bothering to report it. I offered my services as a moderator, to help deleting it, but didn't even get the courtesy of a reply.
Sorry for going off on one- it just seems whenever I log in to have a glance through the forums, there are posts on "designer bags, clothes, Uggs, GHD's...." on the forum- from what I understand, the forums are a place to talk and discuss, not to advertise. It was something I was going to rise above and ignore, but the same threads were still there for days and days and days afterwards- irritating as I would have imagined someone admin wise would also take a glance at the forums at some point and see the spam and erase it. Suprized that did not happen.
Wasn't aimed at anyone in particular just the sheer volume of spam I kept finding and seeing. Maybe have a separate advertisment thread where said spammers and advertisers (if they are not the same thing) can all post to take the ads away from those of us who prefer to shop for the genuine article?
