Subject: Creative PR
Hi baggers Im rather new to PR and work with a range of different clients. A great deal of my writing is feature based, which of course needs to be creative to stand out from the crowd. And herein lies my problem. Although I can write well-researched, interesting and logical pieces (and often get complimented by journalists on my copy) I do struggle with creativity. I had assumed that I just wasnt very creative; I mean its not really something you can learn is it? However, my boss has pointed out that when writing for myself (blogs etc) I am very creative and have no problem getting my personality across in my writing. So how do I manage to input this creativity into my work? When I write for myself I am, of course, writing about things I am interested in, however when writing for my clients, although not disinterested, Im not passionate about the subject matter so its hard to inject the much needed personality. Any advice, book recommendations etc would be much appreciated! Megs
