Hiya, I took up mosaic making last year and love it :yay: The materials are expensive but I've managed to make some money from selling them which lets me buy more stuff

I joined BAMM (the British Association for Modern Mosaic) and will be showing my work in their exhibitions, which should be lots of fun! I buy my basic supplies from thecraftkit.com - they are based in Holland but even with the shipping it's still cheaper than buying stuff here. Then I buy more special tiles from Ebay (such as tiles cut from stained glass). I get my MDF bases cut to size for me, from a place just down the road from where I live, but you can easily go to B&Q and get a big sheet of MDF and chop it up yourself with a jigsaw. Make sure you buy wheeled tile cutters rather than struggling with standard tile nippers, it makes life so much easier.... Hobbycraft do huge bottles of PVA glue - you do use a lot of this so it's worth buying the massive bottles! Hope all this helps! Here's a couple of my mosaics....I sometimes use slices of agate etc. as well as mosaic tiles
