Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to this, but thought I'd try and see what you guys are all thinking about the new Star Trek movie.

At the moment I'm torn between seeing Wolverine or Star Trek on Saturday evening. While I've heard that Wolverine is meant to be OK, and it stars the delish Hugh Jackman, I've only heard praise for Star Trek from friends that have seen it and I just can't make my mind up!

Have you seen Star Trek yet? What did you think?

If you haven't - Will you be going to see it? And if you are, what are you expecting? Do you think that unless you're a 'trekkie' you should steer clear?

Hi, I've never watched Star Trek on TV as it's never appealed to me at all, but I went to see the movie and LOVED it!! I'd definately recommend watching it whether you're a Trekkie or not.

Whichever you decide to watch you won't be dissappointed!

However, I've also seen Wolverine and thought it was more than OK. If you like the other X-Men movies, you'll like this too. Whichever you decide to watch you won't be dissappointed!

Suppose I may be a closet Trekkie. Have been known to watch NG and Voyager in the past. Have even been to see the Star Trek NG films.

However, I really wanted to see this new Star Trek film purely because of the cast. Zachary Quinto is fabulous as Spock and the new actor who plays Kirk is also very good.

Go and see it - mind you I still want to see Wolverine as well! x

im undecided about going to see the film. i loved star trek as a kid but not the classic series, more next generation really. ive only seen the ng films and never the classic ones, and tbh i never really liked the set up of that series.

so after a lot of rambling, i still dont know if i'll bother. altho im intruiged just to see simon pegg!

I'm not a Trekkie by any stretch of the imagination, and I *loved* it! I'd only stay clear if you object to sci fi/fantasy as a whole.

I went to see it yesterday at 10.50am. It was bliss going mid week at that time with the kids at school, there was a total of 3 people in there.

As for the film, well i was dissapointed in it. I've watched all the star trek films and series but this film was only ok. It's not a film i left the cinema thinking i could watch it again.

My OH is a huuuuge trek fan, I can take it or leave it really but relented and went to watch it yesterday. Suprisingly, I really enjoyed it! It's not going to challenge your philosophies on the universe but it's entertaining and funny so I'd recommend it!

I loved the star Trek movie! I've even seen it twice now I am a bit of a trekkie so was really looking forward to it but i went with non-sci fi fans and they also really enjoyed it. I liked Wolverine too but i think i liked Star Trek more.

Thought this was a pretty good film, in respects that it was left every open. I think it was ment as more as a platform to relaunch the series. Non the less it was still entertaining albiet the story line was a tad week. Thought most of the characters did really well at playing the crew, although Simon Pegg was pooo! What the hell was that Jar Jar binks type thing all about, not needed! thought the bad guy was a bit lame too.

Not being a trekkie i didn't think i was going to like this, but it did seem to entertain me for a couple of hours. I'm guessing this was due to the fact Kirk and Spock were bothe HOT!! Wouldn't mind a go on Chekov to if he kept his mouth shut! ;o)
