I'd say first to relax and not try to lose the weight too quickly. It may sound boring and slow, but the best way to lose weight really is the old fashioned way: sensible eating and exercise. When I've wanted to lose a few inches I've found that making little changes really helps, more than launching straight into some punishing regime.
For example, choosing reduced-fat dairy products instead of full-fat, eating less sugary breakfast cereals, fewer sweets and so on. If you cut your calories drastically, that's when you get the headaches, cravings and all that rubbish. A little bit of what you fancy does you good, as long as you keep it to a little

(not that i'm much good on that front!)
Then there's the exercise part. Again the small changes, otherwise you risk hurting yourself. Try walking more, or take up a dance class, that's what I did.
Hope you find this useful xx
