Subject: Giving it a go on here
Hello everyone.
I have never posted before so this is all a bit new to me!
I am a bit unhappy with my weight. I am 5.6" and 9 stone 8lbs. I know it's far from overweight but I have always been 8 and a half to 9 stone so I feel heavier than I should be.
I thought posting on here might help me to motivate myself. I am very keen on exercise, I do about 2 40 minute workouts a week and sometimes run and swim. I go to the gym and also do high energy workout DVDs. Im not sure where I am going wrong, I do eat a lot of fruit so this could be the problem?! I am also vegetarian. I would welcome any cmments about my food diary!

Today:
B - 60g porridge oats with skimmed milk & water. Cup of tea no sugar.

Snack - 2 apples. Cup of tea.

L - I plan to have 60g basmalti rice and butternut squash.

Many thanks!

I won't have any thing else now.

Well, I'm no nutritionist, but since no-one else has replied yet, I'll offer my 2p worth!

It looks as though you're eating mostly carbohydrates (with quite a lot of sugar) and very little protein. You need more protein, particularly as you're exercising. Sources of lean protein for veggies...hmm....do you eat eggs? Most of the fat is contained in the yolk, so eat more whites than yolks if you want to lose weight. Tofu and soya? Pulses have some protein in, too. You could eat nuts, which are very fatty, but apparently they contain mostly the unsaturated fats you need to stay healthy, and don't tend to pile the weight on as fast as saturated fats, so they're good to eat in moderation.

Hope this helps. There are some very knowledgeable people who post on here, so hopefully you'll get a more educated reply soon!

ETA: load up on the vegetables too.
