Subject: Flunked Weight Watchers - need a buddy
My son gets married at the end of August and I need to look super great since his dad and wife (who slept with him when we were married) will be there.
Having taken the plunge last week - joined WW with just under 2 odd stone to lose to get to MY ideal weight (ignoring the 4 stone WW think I should lose tut) I tackled the plan. I sat for FOUR hours meticulously drawing up a week's worth of menus, shopped and decided this is it.
Then spent the whole week thinking about food, constantly eating and feeling generally cheated out of the food I like.
So today ... first weigh in .... gotta have lost at least a pound (fingers crossed)
Get on the scales and the woman goes ... "OH" ... hmmm at this point I'm thinking it's not a good oh .... "you've put on half a pound - you need to see so-and-so over there" - points at a grufty looking woman ... sheepishly over I go - spend the next 10 mins justifying what I ate and what could have gone wrong ... "give it one more week" she says, looking doubtful.
So here I am ... I have one more week to prove to myself that WW WILL work for me and I WILL look fab in August ...
Anyone a WW pro, or foundling like me that wants to buddy up
*pretty please*

I'm taking the plunge tomorrow and going to my first WW meeting - never been before so don't really know what to expect (apart from the dreaded weigh in!), but friends of mine have had some success at it so she has motivated me to go.

The last two years I have put on about 2.5st and I know my downfall - alcohol and working shifts, which means I'm eating the wrong food at the wrong time and I find it imposible to get into any sort of routine. I'm hoping that regular meetings will force me into action and focus me a bit more on actively loosing weight - that is my plan!

I think preparation is the key, planning meals and making sure the house is well stocked up to help prevent slip ups...

I hope my positive thoughts last long enough to lose a good few stone - I'm on holiday in August too, so it would be lovely to be slimmer for summer

I'll let you know how I get on.
Keep at it doitagain, it's going to be hard to get into the routine but it's still early days!

Good luck Kitty Boo ... seems we're looking for the same weight loss (regardless of facts & figures WW give you) I know what weight I'm happy at ... anything less and I start to look like a starved thing (since I have large bone structure). Anyways. come back and let me know how things are going
I've had an up and down week so far ... since putting it on ... I'm having a crisis - I try and throughout the day I'm REALLY good, and then by the end of the day - I'm bored and I think well what's the point I put on last week and blow it!
I did get on the scales at home this morning and it's showing a pound off ... so feeling a bit motivated today ... so here's keeping fingers crossed!

Hi KB
I have my WI on a Wednesday ... considering I loosely stuck to the diet this week - I managed to lose 2.5 lbs so was pleased
I'm only allowed 19 points - so it currently takes hours to figure out my weekly menu SIGH. My first two weeks I just paid weekly, but now I've taken out a monthly pass and have access to the WW web site ... it looks like it will be easier to plan my eating.
Sounds like your OH is very supportive ... I find though with MrDIA constantly asking how it's going, what have I eaten today etc quite irritating - so told him to stop it (well for now anyways lol)
Good luck this week ... hmm I'm not so sure I'll do that well since its my son's 21st tomorrow and we're out for dinner Fir & Sat ... plus copious amounts of cake and champers!
Look forward to hearing hos you got on on Monday (GO YOU going there straight from night shift ... not THAT is dedication

Well done you - 2.5lbs is great

I won't be going there after a night shift again, it was a one off followed by waaaay too much coffee I was passing and thought sooner rather than later! Next Monday evening, all will be revealed - dinner wasn't great today (12 points!!) but all week I've been under points so not feeling too bad.

Enjoy your son's 21st, I can never say no to champers - enjoy!

19 points seem quite low with 2 + stones to lose. Can you do a little activity and increase points that way? I'm doing WW online and find as long as I stick to my points I do lose weight - but it's not always easy!

How do you calculate extra points for exercise - my starter pack doesn't seem to mention this...

Well, I'm back from my weigh in after my first week following the points and.....

I LOST 3LBS

Very happy with myself and quite surprised at how positive I'm still feeling about it all. But as its Bank Holiday next week it's unlikely there will be a meeting so we all need to stay motivated for two weeks before the next weigh in!

How is everyone else getting on/feeling atm? I've discovered the WW ice swirls for only 1.5points a tub - sorts out my sweet tooth.

WOW well done you 3lbs ..... I'm not jealous in the slightest *wink* Keep up the good work!!!
Miss Megs ... my 19 points are based on my height/weight ratio as far as I know - even the WW online "esource" thingey says 19, but I'm managing ok (when I'm not ill that is)

I've had a terrible week all in all ... not WW wise but I've picked up a virus which put me in hospital so haven't been able to eat much at all, and anything I have eaten has come out pronto - so if I haven't lost any weight when I WI tomorrow ... there's something wrong in the world.
Hopefully, I'll be able to start eating properly again soon since, atm, just a couple of mouthfuls of anything makes me feel quite queasy (which I often think is worse than actually being sick) *woe is me*

Poor you, sounds like you truely have had a terrible week! I hope your feeling as though your on the mend now...like you say, as bad as being ill is - it sometimes has welcome side effects = weight loss!

Focus on getting better, put the points out of your mind for a while

Excellent - 4lbs is great, we've lost half a stone between us this week - that's worth celebrating!

I need to be really good for the rest of this week - family chinese meal arranged for Sat and a girls night out to see Girls Aloud on Sunday - I need to start saving up my points sharpish!

Are you feeling any better now?
