Subject: Best Breakfast?! help!
Hey everyone....BASICALLY everyone is always talking about how breakfast is the most important meal of the day etc etc, and especially as ive just joined a gym so am hoping to become waaaay fitter and more active, I was wondering what everyone would recommend for breakfast? I get hungry so quickly in the morning, and I sometimes turn to crisps etc around 11 to fill me up!
The criteria = - (first and most important) most filling - fairly low calorie - great taste!
I tend to avoid carbohydrates, but I've realised that eating them in the morning is the best time to eat them, plus I will be exercising to burn them off in the day.
So ideas and suggestions pleeeeeeeease! xxxxxxxxx

Today i had a bowl of cornflakes and a tea with one sugar and milk.

Then i walked to my town and had a cappucino and a ciabatta dipped in olive oil with chopped fresh tomatoes on top and thyme with i myself topped with plenty of Tomato Sauce- for flavour.

Then now i'm BOASTINGGGGG!!!! i did 2 HOURS IN THE GYM!!!!! What da you think???? I think it's absolument coool. xoxoxoxo

Then i did some necessary shopping and i feel sooo healthy i was not even tired.

Just to add i walked home as well.

i am really enjoying this fitness thing, and i think i will defo keep it up, i am going to join a PILATES class at Easter, i also want to do a modern dance class, and in the summer i want to do an artistic class- like painting or ceramics or card making or jewellery making. I am going to do more walking the dogs as it's approaching Spring.

Talking of the other post a Fitness Instructor said to me today: "You're thin, you need to put some weight on, i said i'm always eating and i don't put it on, she said your sooo thin, i said "I Know."

I reeeallly eat plenty, take tonight my family went out and bought the food in today, sooo i arrived home to lots of little treats in the fridge. they've gone to bed and i got permission to cook the pizza and i have eaten half for supper, i have also had 3 cereal bars, a yoghurt, a hot chocolate, and i'm thinking of going in the kitchen for another small slice of pizza as there's still some left and i fancy a tea or another hot chocolate to which i am going to relax with in bed, whilst reading ok magazine and listening to music.

I wasn't going to come on HANDBAG tonight, but my conscience got to me and i thought, ohh i can't neglect all the BAGGERS!!! Especially when it's been such a fab day.

Sorry to talk sooo much about meee, tell me about yoouuuu

H&F xoxo p.s I HAVE had NO WINE, this is my usual self writing here, i could've had wine but the family drank it all while i was reading the Daily Express and hiding from them in my room, sat on my bed listening to KYLIE tunes and just sleeping. Then i got hungry and had to go down for something to eat.

Ooh Porridge by far with one teaspoon of sugar!! It fills me up for four hours! Amazing! It is amazing for these terribly cold mornings too! Amazing! I totally heart porridge..although it isn't everyone's cup of tea...

Although having said that, you have to get the texture right or it tastes like glue.......lol

Hope this helps!

Sometimes I have porridge as well, with sugar. I get the sachets in a box, pour the oats from one sachet in a glass dish, fill the sachet with milk, then add that to the porridge, give it a stir.

Microwave for 2 mins, take out and add sugar. I normally have a cup of tea as well.

I think in the morning i will have yoghurt and a hot chocolate if there is enough milk. I might have cereal or a cereal bar as well.

homemade "muesli" cooked like porridge - I just mix together a pack of porridge oats with raisins, milled flaxseeds, chopped prunes, nuts (whatever I feel like or have at home), store it in an airtight container and in the cold mornings I make it up like porridge in the microwave.
If I have that for brekkie (which is usually around 7.40) I'm full til at least 12.15. If I do get peckish I have a piece of fruit or a few nuts and then have lunch around 1.
Does the job for me, I seem to have lost a bit of weight without even trying too hard!

Two rice cakes thinly spread with peanut butter
1 small cup of low sugar museli with a teaspoon of linseed and a splash of skimmed milk
1 fat free pot of yoghurt

About 280 calories altogether, should keep you going for at least 4 hours without needing to snack.

Also boiled or poached eggs for breakfast are brilliant if you are trying to lose weight. I lived in China for a while and one of the main things I learnt from their diet was how crucial eggs are in keeping you full. Obesity is virtually non existent in China yet most people eat 4-6 eggs in some form every day (boiled in the morning and lunchtime, in soup or noodle dishes in the evening). try a boiled egg with a drop of soy sauce on the yolk - delicious. Or boil the eggs in water with star anise and Sichuan pepper for a boost to your metabolism.

I'm with the other girls, porridge is the only thing that fills me up. At the weekend when I have more time I tend to have boiled eggs or omlette with mushrooms and tomato.
