....you heard the Michael Jackson news? People always say they will remember where they were when music legends pass away. What were you doing? Did you watch the coverage unfold?

I was watching a band in a pub. Someone had a text, I thought it was a joke. They said 'There's no punchline, Michael Jackson is dead, he had a cardiac arrest'.

Sickening news.

I was out with friends earlier yesterday evening and came back to my flat and was faffing around on the net.

I saw the news that he'd been rushed to hospital. Then I was on facebook and saw Dazzling and had updated her status to RIP Michael Jackson and I rushed into the front room to put the TV on because the entire internet slowed down as everyone was trying to get news.

Then waited until the BBC had confirmed it.

I wasn't shocked last night because all the associated drama of 'is he or isn't he' kind of overtook other feelings.

I cried a bit this morning though. Very sad.

I was playing around on the net before bed and noted that someone had updated their status to "can't belive it about Michael Jackson" so I went to the BBC news website and watched their live feed. They confirmed it about 20 minutes later.

in the car on the way to work. heard it on the radio and couldn't believe it. I though "what the hell are they on about??"
very sad news, so unexpected. I mean, I didn't expect him to do ALL his London gigs, I just didn't think he's be up for so many, but no way did I expect that!

I had fallen asleep on the settee while watching Trial and Retribution on ITV. I woke up at 11.35 just as it was finishing and there was a news bulletin announcing that Michael Jackson had died of a heart attack

Very sad.

I was asleep. Woke up at 3am for no reason and someone had texted me. I switched my laptop on and looked on the internet. It's all quite surreal.

I fell asleep watching Family Guy and woke up to hear the words 'sister LaToya was seen crying' for the 30 second news bit on BBC3.

I was fast asleep when Mum decided to wake me up to tell me - she said "Rach! RACH! Michael's dead!"...I thought she meant Michael Schumacher (have been a fan of his for 15 years)...I let out a loud shriek and then she said "yeah Michael Jacksons died"...

In the kitchen making breakfast after a mammoth 10 hour sleep (unheard of for me, midweek!)

I'd gone to bed at 9.30 Thursday night absolutely exhausted, but hubby and son heard the news breaking late on, before they hit the sack. I was up making breakfast on Friday morning and turned the radio on to hear Chris Moyles say "very sad news there - more details now in the 7.30 news" and I'd only just thought "what's happened now" when they confirmed it.

Not a fan of Jackson myself in recent years although his 80's more disco-ey stuff was okay - but I have to say I was really shocked.

Off on a tangent for a second, watching the news on Friday night they interviewed a former Jackson family lawyer who said he'd long been concerned about MJ's use of prescription drugs and warned that one day MJ would "wake up dead" - ?!!

I heard that as well and thought 'you muppet' for a supposed lawyer he sounded way to happy to be talking to the press

Hi everyone

I had heard about Michael being rushed to hospital just before bedtime.

I thought nothing of it until I switched on Breakfast on Friday am just before 7 - it was a shock.

I was talking to my friends about prescription drugs - its really sad that people can die from prescription drugs in the case of Heath Ledger as well.

I'm sure that people in my generation will remember him for his achievements in his prime.

It was 10.30pm when we found out via a news flash on the telly. Me and him had just come in from having a large debate about having a second baby whilst having a fag in the garden and i moved to do the washing up whilst still yabbering and he went towards the living room and then all of a sudden he "shhhuush" me. I knew it was serious so came running soapy hands.

When i reached him he said michael Jacksons dead!!

Marina:)

I was in my room and I can't remember exactly what I was looking at (I was online) but I read he had suffered a cardiac arrest and not long after I had Sky News on for any news so it was on there I heard that he had died.

I was on the net late at night. But actually I am not that fussed that he died, so it doesnt seem that important to recall.
