Subject: Home hair dye help! (my hair gone plum coloured!!)
Hi Everyone,

In an effort to save money I did a home haid dye kit yesterday (Loreal Casting Creme). I chose Iced Chocolate. However, it is not chocolate at all but a plum colour!! Luckily it's only 28 days but I am a bridesmaid in 2 weeks and need to get back to the colour I wanted (brunette).

Can anyone recommend a good colour to turn my haid back to brunette. I don't know whether to try Loreal again but in another colour. Maybe just 'medium brown'?

Has anyyone had a good experience with a home hair dye kit?!!

Thanks soo much in advance [http://community.handbag.com/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/throb.gif]

Hi

I don't think one dye on another dye will do much. I've coloured my hair far too dark/or plum in the past and my advice would be to use a harsh shampoo (Head and Shoulders is the one recommended quite a lot on here) or even wash with green fairy liquid and then put on some deep conditioner. This should get the colour out quickly.

Get hold of some medicated shampoo. My hairdresser swears Vosene is the best for stripping an unwanted semi perm colour but other's use Head and Shoulders (obviously not the colour friendly one!) Bung a load on your hair, rub in and leave for 10 mins. When you wash out it should take a lot of the dye with it.
Hope that helps!
