Dont know if this problem can even he helped in fact i doubt it can coz i seem to have tried everything [http://community.handbag.com/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-frown.gif]

For as long as i can remember iv had ultra greasy hair/ and mega greasy skin, skins thats bad within 1 hour of puttin powder its like an oilslick visually and if you touch it all over my face
I use Revlon Colorstay foundation, and iv tried different face powders none have made much of a difference

My hairs so lank all the time as well its literally going greasy by the same nite of having washed it in the mornin........

I was at the Doctors MOn and mentioned how much its gettin me down now, i thought by the age of 25 it would be balancing out, but all he said was its normal and just the way i am, and at least il be less wrinkly - i think id rather be wrinkly than have a constant greasy conk and face and half my make up slipping off!

Its really depressing me these days, i just started taking the Dianette pill which im hoping will make a little difference to the pil, and the spots im always getting as well, i was on Dianette years ago but cant remember how much difference it made as i had bad acne then anyway...

What's your skincare routine like? You may want to try washing your face with really mild cleanser morning and evening, moisturising with a light non-paraffin based lotion, then blotting your face with tissues at intervals during the day if you find you still get breakouts. I've had pretty oily skin since I was a kid, and after a LOT of trial and error this seems to work for me.

Im usually using come kind of antibacterial wash or scrub as my skins quite spotty, right now im using Olay Regenerist Scrub cleanser thingy that heats up on your skin, meant to draw dirt out and stuff, dont know if that would be making the oil worse? I sometimes use a toner in the morning but that doesnt seem to make much a difference either, and i never use moisturiser

Wot mild cleanser works for you DiddyMac?x

If you don't use moisturiser your skin will produce more oil to keep it moisturised. You should really use a moisturiser that is suitable for oily skin.

This is probably going to sound bizarre but use a little ordinary soap as believe it or not it absorbs the grease. Be careful not to use too much and end up with the opposite effect (dry skin). I am 39 and have always had greasy skin/hair so I know how it feels. Good luck x

I had acne a few months ago, after getting over my anxiety illness, it was mainly as i had been stressed and i kept rubbing my spots. They got quite bad, so i went to see my GP, who prescribed me with a lotion for my face. This helped, but then i started to forget to use it, and the spots appeared again. So since then i bought Simple Sensitive Skin Facewash, which helped loads, i found it was better when i wash my face morning and night. I have just bought Cuticura sensitive skin with no perfume facewash today, as i'd ran out and this was the only one i could find in my local shop.

I don't always use moisturiser, as when i had spots a friend of my mother's said don't use moisturiser until your skin dries up and the spots get better. Just treat the spots with spot gel/ cream and use facewash. Which i did, and today i didn't even where make up and i hardly have spots, which is lovely for me.

Also be careful what you eat, as greasy, fatty foods, sugary foods don't help.

Hope this helps

Love H&F x

For about 6 months last year I had really bad greasy forehead and really bad pimples, for some reason they slowly cleared up in time. My diet hadn't changed or anything, I started using spot face wash every night and morning but gave up after a month because it hadn't changed. I think its alot to do with hormones and stress.

Also I have really greasy hair, I wash it every morning and by the next morning it is back to being greasy, I've had advice to not wash it every morning but I just CAN'T go to uni with horrible hair, to stop the grease I change my shampoo most months and it does make a difference. Try special greasy hair shampoos. . . .

I also have oily skin and have found that it behaves much better when I use gentle products designed for sensitive skin. For a while now I've been cleansing with Amie Purifying Facial Wash, toning with Botanics Rosewater Toner and moisturising with Olay Complete Moisturising Fluid (Sensitive). Try treating your skin more gently for a few weeks and see how it responds.

Oh, and ease off on the scrubs too. Or try The Body Shop 3 in 1 Honey & Oat exfoliating face mask it's the only scrub/exfoliater I've tried that doesn't encourage further spots and oil slicks.

I would definitely suggest using something like dermalogica... might be expensive but it works... why not get advice from one of their consultants and they can recommend you a skin regime to try. I've had nothing but good results using dermalogica and def recommend it.

You can buy sample sizes too.

Scottishgal, I use shield and I don't have too much trouble with blocked pores. All I would say is give it a try.

Try the oil cleansing method! Mad as it sounds, cleansing your skin with oil actually prevents your skin producing more oil.Theres loads of info online about this, read some and you'll get a better idea of what it does and how it helps. But it realy does work.

Scottishgal I've been using a No7 mattifying thing http://www.boots.com/en/No7-Shine-Free-Make-Up-Base_15552/ under make up and it means I'm a lot less shiny during the day
For hair- have you tried a dry shampoo?

Hi,

I completely feel your pain, my skin is ridiculous, i have tried too many moisturisers/toners/facewashes/foundations to even talk about!! When i put eyeshadow on i have to use primer potion, then the shadow and then a glue type product (it's a mac pro product) for it to stick properly! After i dry/straighten my hair and leave it for a bit, there is then a "sheen" to my forehead!!

I seem to have found a routine that works (but as we know your skin gets used to things!!) I use soap and glory face wipes, then in the morning use soap and glory clean mary, though every 2/3 days i use their greatest scrub of all exfoliator. I then use boots own brand oil free moisturiser. My foundation of choice at the moment is bourjous mousse matte (their newish one).

Normally i'd have to blot 3 times a day or so but today for instance, i blotted once and even then it wasn't as bad as normal.

I have to wash my hair everyday too as it gets greasy quite quickly but i also put this down to my habit of playing with it all day!!

hope this helps - i know it contradicts a lot of oily face rec's but mine was getting me really down and i've experimented beyond belief.
