Subject: Anyone heard of Victoria Jackson makeup
My brother has just called round and he said that someone came into his work today selling Victoria Jackson makeup and apparently she told him it was something to do with Mac, Bobby Brown and Clinique. Bless him he bought me some and said he thought he would treat me. Has anyone ever heard of it? googled her and cant really find much info.

Enjoy VJ cosmetics, they are actually quite good and definately are not a low end cosmetic. Her marketing techniques although unique, are very effective. Using the direct marketing aspect allows her to hit a larger marketplace therefore enabling the company to drop prices so everyone can afford these high end cosmetics. Get excited and take advantage of the promotions she is putting on, you'll save hundreds of $$ and at the same time will know you're not putting crap on your skin. Here's a couple websites if your looking for more info. Enjoy! vjcosmetics.com vmakeup.com americantelecast.com rhinoguy

This is the weirdest thing! i read this thread when it was first written and didnt bother replying cos i had never heard of her..anyway i was just searching google for a UK retailer of 'lola cosmetics' a brand i discovered in the pout store in covent garden and subsequently got a few products in their closing down sale. Im so impressed that i wanted to play with some more..anyway many websites claim that she is behind the brand! how freaky?! the actual lola cosmetics website doesnt mention victoria jackson but i found 2 websites that do. if the 'victoria jackson' brand is as good as 'lola cosmetics' then i want to find it! anyone else used lola cosmetics?

I went to the Vitality show the other week and there was a Victoria Jackson stand there. The SA did quite a hard sell which I found off-putting, but it looked like nice make-up. If I wasn't trying to be good I would probably have bought some! They do this little box that magically has about 5 eye shadows, 2 blushers, 5 lipsticks etc in it.

Wow! THREE first-timer posters on the same thread? :yaright: Looks like Custard Tart's right about the hard sell. Pushy sales-people always put me off, too.

Ive just started working at a marketing company that represents hundereds of major brands, including victoria jackson. I must admit before i started at the company id seen these girls trying to sell the make up very cheaply & thought it was a con! however i now know the truth. Basically victoria jackson is a hollywood make up artist. she does make up for shows like desperate housewives. the make up is being sold in kits cheaply over here to promote her products & increase brand awareness for when she launches over here.
The cosmetics are all mineral based & of very good quality. Victoria Jackson is know as the "no make up-make up artist" because of her natural looking products.
at the moment were selling kits worth 210 for 30 but the aim isnt to sell its more about spreading the word of Victoria jackson so when it hits the shops people are already familiar.

the product youre talking about is called the "survival kit" it was in the zoolander movie! its amazing & contains 10 eyeshadows, 2 blushers, 5 lipglosses, eyeliner & lip pencil & mini brush set with mirror all in a tiny compact known as "the swiss army knife for women"
ive just started at a marketing company & 1 of the brands i promote is victoria jackson & on my first day i bought the entire kit! i love it!

Don't be taken in by this brand.

I had a rep come into my shop Xmas 2007 with a hard sell telling me how great this product was and that it wouldn't be in the shops or tv till next year (still waiting to see it). Apparently it would be featured on Ideal World and QVC.

The make up is nothing like bobby brown, mac or anything else they have said and if you look on the cast lists on the internet movie database she hasn't done any make up for Pirate's of the Caribbean or sex in the city or even desperate house wives. Pure LIES!!

I struggled for a whole year to sell this make up, dropped the prices, buy on get one free, buy two get the cheapest free, every promotion under the sun but I still couldn't shift it.

Was told that if I couldn't sell it the rep would come back and take it off my hands - that never happened after numerous messages and telephone calls.

Put it on ebay no body wanted it on there and if they did they wanted all 26 sets for next to nothing - in the end I had to bite the bullet and took a massive loss on ebay after re listing it 7 times. But to be honest I was completely sick of the site of it.

One reason I think I struggled is because the reps went into every shop in the area and sold the kits for 20 each but it wasn't cosmetics shops or hair dressers it was even the shoe shop, gym, fruiters and the pie shop etc so it they bought the kits for family members it ment I had no chance of selling it anyway.

My advice - STAY WELL AWAY the company and the reps are all based on LIES!!!

Hey you girls up there in the northern part of the world are getting ripped off sideway's,
20pounds a set!!!
down here in N.Z,they sell the sets for %&*$#20,thats about 8pounds,
I'v worked around cosmetic's for year's and can tell you this make up is fine for what it is,the compact's are the selling point in my opinon, they look great, got the look of nar's,they hype up their webb site and over price everything to make it look like you are getting a bargan, when you buy from one of their rep's,who get NO training in what they are selling, they get %30 commission, the training they do get is how to sell, this company also sell's phone's,clothe's,toy's
and alot of other crap,i was given some to try,it's fine, nothing you can't get from any other brand revlon, rimmel, avon etc,it has NOTHING to do with any other big name out there and maybe the lady in the picture her name isn't VJ,if anyone want's anymore info on this direct marketing co I can post it.
Don't feel ripped off to much, and for the girl who's brother brought this is super nice,a real sweety,.
But all you ladie's out there don't think that all the big brand name's out there are worth what you are paying, most if not all lip stick's are marked up between 200 and 300 per cent,on average a lippy at cost is no more than %&*$#2,the rest is to pay for advertising, mall space, supermodles, etc, how can the like's of mac give so much away to beast cancer, television etc, eyeshadow's marked up to %500,it's all about marketing, also whats in these product's,next time you are in a supermarket look behind a mascara and count how many ingredient's there are,the super waterproof one's contain the most,no wounder it set's like tar,if there's more than 12 ingredient's,it's to many,in the Innoxa Definitive Maximise lip creme there are 61 ingredient's 61!!!!!!but the good thing is they don't test on animal's...hmmmmmm i don't know maybe i look into it to much, but people who put the like's of mac.bobbi brown etc on a pedistool,LIKE their the best! need to open their eye's we find comfort in name's we are familier with,so we trust them and praise them but any one with enough money can put their products in glossy mag's and on the t.v,a classic example is Proactive,it's a cleanser and toner set,DO YOU REALLY THINK P.DIDDY USE'S IT!!!!!with all his money, come on people wake up.
if i have offended anyone i'm sorry,if i have put anyone to sleep i'm also sorry,on top of it all my spelling is not to hot ,i do have so much more to add but need to walk the dog.
by the way i'm pro make up,been around it all my life, wear it maybe 5 day's of the week,i'm not a greenie, but i'm not lead to belive everything i'm told over a counter top,i look up a lot thing's that interests me and cosmetic's is one of them.
kia kaha,
from down under.

yes VJ is connected to Lola some how,but it's not widely known how,
and the paper work i have on VJ hasn't got a lot of info,i think they don't want people to know it's connected to a tacky direct sale's company,as sombody said their marketing company has VJ as well as many big brand's product's,i can tell you in this country, this company has no brand's anyone i know have heard of,if VJ is looking at bringing the make up line to rank's of any of the brands we do know, going thru and promoting it thru door knocking rep's that pressure you into buying it and name dropping aswell (i have not read anywhere that the manufature's of mac make's VJ) and then to say it will be comming out soon in the mall's next door to mac, well seeing is beliving, but you do what you do best ie,NOKIA sells cell phone's,not cell phone's and toy's
VJ rep's sell anything from cosmetic's,book's,toy's to jacket's,they are not make up artist's unless you get the odd one,it's just a quick buck for them, here most the people they employ have just got off the plane they don't need a work visa, they just need the gift of the gabe.
they will also be posting on any site's that talk about the product, only the best feed back............
