Hi all

Having read Jon Gustafon's recommendations, I bought the Strixaderm dark circles cream. I've almost come to the end of the bottle and I've not seen much of an improvement. I'm intrigued to hear how other people have got with it? Suggestions for any other products / treatments also very welcome!

Thankyou in advance

Rather than buying creams, which I have found promise much and deliver little! Try making sure you drink enough fluid every day, get sufficient sleep and ask your doctor to check your blood iron levels, anaemia can give you dark circles under the eyes.

Also! Make sure you get enough sleep, enough fresh fruits and vegetables- steamed if not eaten raw rather then boiled to death!

You can apply all the creams you want but your only going to get so far in terms of reversing any nutritional damage (your eyes show a great deal of nutriitional damage as the skin there is thinner and more delicate, and easily damaged). If the problem is heredetory (ie the rest of your family has dark undereyes and all live different lifestyles/eat different foods) then unless your willing to go for surgeory theres not much you can do.

On the plus side, Mac has excellent makeup which stays put all day...
Blah blah blah

Thanks for the tips I eat healthily, get enough sleep and take vitamin and iron supplements. I guess I'm stuck with them. I don't even think there are cosmetic procedures for dark circles and even if there were I'd probably be too squeamish!

If anyone else has any experiences they'd like to share, I'd love to hear. Thanks.

Not only did I have terrible dark circles, but horrible uneven cracked skin tone. By chance I visited a friend (permanetly broke as me) and had invested in a cheap skincare for acne I never heard of which seemed to have transformed her face. Got on their site www.cenjuskincare.co.uk http://www.cenjuskincare.co.uk - looks cheap but after a thorough read of ingredients used I bought some for the mature range, well I threw away my foundation bottles, as I do not need to cake my face no more. Works for me beautifully

Este Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex worked really well for me. The only problem is that I don't find it very hydrative, but it certinly helped my nasty dark circles a lot! I don't know if it works the same for every one but I only need to use it at night now bcause they are so much better.
Hope this helps!

Hello I have been using Karin Herzog's eye cream - also recommended on John G's pages - and can say that I am now using all the KH products with great effect. At 51 and following aggressive treatment for cancer my skin needs lots of nourishment (the chemo strips away everything) and these products are simply the best that I have found!!! The eye cream is very good and lasts for a VERY long time - at around 27 it's a good buy! Good luck, I would be very interested in hearing how you got on...

I also suffer from acne, so thanks for the link to the Cenju website. I went on the contraceptive pill which really has helped clear up spots on my back... but not my face!

Thanks also for the dark circle cream reccs, very much appreciated I might give the Estee Lauder one a go - I'm not sure if it'll do much for me as I think mine are pretty bad (or maybe that's just my perception...) but I need to a new eye cream anyway and it's fairly reasonably priced compared with a lot of the creams! i.e. 100 for that Hylexin stuff!!! I have also been trying Arnica cream (v. cheap from health food shops) as it is meant to reduce bruising which is supposed to help. But who knows!

I'll definately keep you posted anyway. Thanks so much.
