There was a big debate raging on Have Your Say on the BBC site which seemed to me to be unnecessary. The ticket was bought by someone else, so the couple who cashed it in stole from the winner. "Finders keepers losers weepers" is perhaps a particularly despicable human trait IMO!
I'm lost as to why the couple did not have to pay back the other �15k of the winnings, as they had used this to clear their debts. Surely they should get back into debt and be forced to pay back the whole amount?
