Subject: Good way to learn how to draw and paint?
I'm thinking of trying my hand at a bit of drawing and painting - any recommendations what's the best way to go about this?

It depends on how you learn best, I think... If you learn well in a personal setting, classes could be good for you. But some people learn better from books or online resources and in their own time...

In my experience though, the best thing is to just sit down with something in front of you and draw it! Even if it doesn't come out the way you'd like on the first attempt, try and try again and with practice it will.

Hi Willows21. I am qualified to give advice here (for once! ), and i can tell you that the best way to learn how to draw is to join a life-drawing class.
It will take a while and you may feel horribly discouraged at times, but stick at it. And remember, that you should be spending more time looking at your subject than what you've done on the page.
You basically have to teach your brain, eye and hand to work together.
Good luck. And let us know how you get on. xx
