You can't change a lifetime of bad eating habits overnight. If you try, you may get frustrated and throw in the towel. Instead of eliminating all of you favorite wheat-containing foods from your diet, allow yourself a "cheat day" once a week. On this day, you can indulge in a small helping of one of your favorite wheat-treats.
If you enjoy munching on peanut butter crackers, go ahead and have two or three just to satisfy your taste buds. If you allow yourself to have some of the foods you love on occasion, you will be less likely to backslide.

A gluten free diet is better than allowing yourself to cheat as suggested above is wrong. If it is causing you a health problem I suggest you go to your doctor and get a dietician or you can try a naturopath. Just doing it because you think it is a fad or wanting to lose weight it isn't the answer. If you have been diagnosed with Celiac disease or IBS then I would suggest the following as in the UK in most Tesco's you can find the Freefrom brand which is gluten free which is the proper term not wheat free. Your local health food store should be able to help you learn more.
