Subject: Home education?
My friend's youngest daughter is increasingly getting bullied at school, and nothing much seems to happen to protect her. She is now thinking of taking her daughter out of school altogether, and I was just wondering if anyone has experience with home schooling? Is there anywhere she could go for help with home-schooling?

Hi Willow

I hurt my ankle when I was 14 and was on crutches at school - until I got bullied so badly my mum pulled me from school. I ended up doing my GCSE's through the local council's home-schooling service and found it a far better environment to learn in than at a main-stream school...

My suggestion would be to talk to the school, and let them know that they are thinking of pulling her and the reasons why... They may be able to offer some suggestions, and if nothing else they need to be made aware of the bullying. I'd then also contact the local council and see if they have any schemes set up to help people in the same situation.

Not sure how much help thats been, but good luck!
