TV phone-in competitions?

I was wondering, does anyone ever actually do these? I keep seeing them, mostly on Channel 5 and ITV - the ones with easy questions you ring in to win a cruise or whatever - and it's funny but I never ever feel inclined to enter these. I'm sure people must though, or they wouldn't do them.

If you enter things like this, have you ever won anything?

I don't enter them because I always feel that I'd have no chance whatsoever with the other million people ringing up/texting. The questions are soooo easy it's virtually impossible to get them wrong!

I know someone who used to enter the competitions on GMTV, she'd phone up every day, never won anything and ended up having her phone line cut off due to not being able to afford her phone bill (which was extortionate)!

These phone in comps annoy me as they're so expensive. And no, I've never heard of anyone who's won. You know how they say you can enter on the website (for free) - would love to know if anyone's ever won this way too!
