I've been trying hard to keep up my recommended intake of water, but getting a bit concerned I'm sticking with tap water at the moment. Do you think bottled water might be better?

I think it all depends on where you live and the 'hardness' of the water.
We live in a hard water area and don't like to drink it straight from the tap so we have a water filter jug as well as buying bottled water.

Tap water's safe to drink in the UK (and most of the developed world for that matter), so it's basically a matter of taste. Personally, I don't like the taste of tap water very much, but that's easily remedied by filtering and/or flavouring it. If you're happy drinking tap water, stick with it - there's no real reason not to.

Is there a particular reason why you're concerned about drinking tap water over bottled water (like how much you're drinking)? I don't think thee's too much difference between tap and bottled water, they both hydrate you but I can imagine it's easier to keep an eye on how much you're drinking if it's from a bottle.

I live in a hard water area and actually like the taste of the water. 'Soft' water tastes peculiar to me... If it's down to the taste, I agree with diddymac about filtering and flavouring.

The one thing that keeps me on tap water is remembering the cost versus the cost of bottled water! Sends me running for the tap every time!

Cheers everyone, I must admit it's a question of taste (we're in a hard water area, and the tap stuff doesn't taste too good) versus cost and waste (plastic bottles aren't really necessary to produce, just so I can drink water LOL), guess I'll invest in a water filter and see how I go

Our water tastes about the same as when I was growing up. We just filter it and drink it. It's totally fine. If we need bottled water, we fill one at home and take it with us. No brainer.

I saw 'skinny water' in my local pharmacists the other day! Water to make you skinny? Have anyone seen this? Water is great for weight-loss anyway, so this just seemed like "people will buy anything" to me! Anyone else actually tried it?

I didn't quite believe it, Skinny Water! Googled it and it's true!

Apparently it's got "specially selected nutrients, which combine the benefits of hydration with minerals, and natural fruit extracts."

Personally, I don't buy into the idea.
Would any of you buy it as an aid to dieting?

I usually like the taste of bottled water. But when I was in Austria, as the tap water was from the Alps, I was amazed by the taste of their tap water!!!
