It kind of depends on how many you want to buy. I've had £100 worth of Premium Bonds for nearly 5 years & I've never won a penny! However if you were going to invest a lot, there is a chance to win big money(almost like the lottery except you don't lose any money). The only downside is you lose out on the interest you could be gaining in a savings account & it's not too easy to retreive your money at any time.

I used to have a fair amount in bonds some years ago. I won small amounts (25 - 50 quid. 75 once) but quite regularly. In all it probably ended up being about the same as I'd have gotten in interest. My mate has had some since we were kids and she's won a fair bit more.
It may be your sole purpose in life to act as a warning to others

Thanks JadeEmily1 and Bernard_Black, looks like it depends on your luck then if you can make up for the "interest lost". And I've never really been THAT lucky, hmmm...
