Hello all!

Im usually in other areas of the bag but thought someone might be able to give me advice

I'm 5"5 and 9stone 8lbs. I'm a typical apple with a small bottom half, usually a size 10 and I'm completely flat bottomed! But I've got most of my weight on my middle and breasts which I'm desperate to lose. In fact my hips measure 36 inches and my waist is the same, as well love handles that come out over my small hips. Not a good look. I'm following slimming world, have cheated a little though. I've been doing one hour of zumba 5 days a week for three weeks and havent lost a pound

Can anyone advise me as to why this might happen? I'd have thought the weight would have been falling off me and its getting me down.

Your weight sounds ok to me but you obviously feel you need to lose a few lbs. Your tummy shouldn't be that big though. Have you tried leaving out bread? Some people get bloating when they eat wheat. A friend lost a lot of weight doing that. Also, if you are doing a lot of exercise, you have probably toned up your muscle. As muscle weighs more than fat, your weight could stay the same when you have lost some fat. What do they say about it at slimmers world?

Thank you for your reply. Slimming World dont really give me advice, mainly becasue I'm not overweight, I want to tone rather than lose (although I'd love to lose but if I cvould only do one it would be tone) and I need a different plan with the anount of exericse I'm doing.

I think you might be onto something with bread and I think salt, so I'm going to add that into my diet and see how I get on. I think I'm being impatient, and now I know muscle weighs more than fat I'm more motivated!

Hi,

I think your weight sounds perfect for your height.

If you want to lose inches and tone up I suggest swapping the aerobic exercise for weight work or legs bums and tums classes or do 3 Zumba and two weights. you have to do what you enjoy as well.

Body pump is fab and if you do it 3 times a week you will notice a massive difference.

LBT is a good option as you will still get an element of aerobics and then move on to toning stuff in the second half of the class.

Lizzie here's something yo make you feel better...your 5"5 and 9stone 8lbs...well I'm 4"11 & just over 9stone...so don't let numbers get you down.

I've been freaking out about my appearance too & as we get older it gets harder so don't be disheartened if you don't see the weight falling off straight away!

Drink loads of water, at least 2L a day...you'll find this will start to clean you out. I know we're not all the same but water is the cure to a lot of things. I despise drinking boring water but since drinking 2L a day I go to the loo at least 3-4 times a day & feel much lighter for it.

They say when you work out your heart rate needs to be kinda high for your body to actually start working off excess weight so build up your cardio. Zumba is good but more fun than anything...trying jogging or skipping.

Lunges will help boost that booty...lol.

Eat well & only eat what you can handle...I say this cos my major problem was over-eating & literally feeling my stomach expand...my eyes are bigger than my belly

'Youtube' stomach toning exercises & stuff...

Notice I haven't mentioned the gym!!! Hey maybe I'm not the best to offer advice...ha ha.

Honestly though simple things can help you achieve what you want...taking the stairs instead of the lift, holding your stomach in & pushing your bottom out when your walking (may not help to lose weight but will make you feel damn good)

Get some light weights to use when your watching tv or waiting for your rice to boil in the kitchen...hold your stomach in & do some stomach crunches or something.

Ok I'm starting to babble & give away ALL my crazy tactics to, what I think, will help achieve a nice body.
