Subject: Work party humiliation...help!
I could really do with some advice on how to cope with making a complete idiot of myself at a work party. I basically got drunk and was very flirty with another member of staff and my colleagues are taking great delight in winding me up about it. The problem is I only half remember the evening as I was so drunk and am not sure what I did or didn't do. Should I apologise to the bloke in question? I don't work directly with him so not sure if I should just leave it and say nothing. I'm so upset about this, I really can't face going into work tomorrow and am dreading it so much I feel physically sick.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated xxx

Oh God, been there, doen that - I think most people have so please try not to stress.

Take control of the situation by going in tomorrow with head high and a cheery comment of "oh God, I was soooo hungover after the do, was anyone else in a bad way too? Can't believe I got so trollied, sorry if I upset anyone, I can be a bit full on with too many beers and no food ..." with a big big smile on your face.

That way, you've brought the subject up first (so no one can get a rise out of teasing you) and brushed off any OTT behaviour.

Most important thing to remember is that this will be yesterday's news in a flash UNLESS you squirm and rise to any bait..then it will just be fun for the others to wind you up!

Front it out!!!

The first thing is not to get trollied at company events! I hardly drink when i am out with work as I am scared of getting drunk and doing or saying something I would regret.

A girl at work is famous getting smashed at company do's and there has been loads of gossip about her sleeping with married men (this isnt true) and she was found unconscious in the men's loo (this was true)! But people still believe the rumours.

As for your flirting target I would leave it alone and see if he contacts you. You never know he might have been drunk also and doesnt really remember it either!

Satsuma Kitten, you were so right.
I kept a smile on my face for the most part of the day and it worked wonders. Not one person mentioned the incident to me.
Thanks peeps, good karma coming your way x
