Has anybody here children around the age of 8? If so how much time on the computer do you allow (per day/week)?

How much computer time for an 8 year old?

Hi Lynndzee, I have a three children aged six, nine and twelve and this is a question that I constantly worry about!
My twelve year old spends around an hour each night on her laptop for homework, and she will sometimes then go on the Stardoll website or chat on MSN for half an hour or so.
With the younger two it's a bit more intermittent - again, I'd say I try to limit it to no more than an hour per day after school on Club Penguin/Stardoll.
I tried to implement a rule that they had to spend ten minutes on a study site first (ie maths or word games) but you know how these things slip after a while.
I did read somewhere that a two hour per day limit for 10-11 year olds was reasonable, but that sounds quite a lot to me. Good luck!
