Subject: Favourite book?
I'm rereading Iain Banks' Transition - it's one of those books I just love to read again and again and see if I can find something new or a different angle to see it by. And I got wondering... does that make it some kind of 'comfort read'?

And which books do other people find themselves settling down with time and again?

I don't really have a book I'd read over again but I did end up reading the whole Twilight saga after much resistance and thinking it was too young for me. Very much comfort reading but now I need something to replace it. Might try your book but open to other suggestions.

What are the Twilight books like? I've heard very mixed reviews from my friends about it.

One of my friends recently recommended Charlaine Harris's True Blood series instead of Twilight, as apparently the TV series doesn't follow it exactly. There seems to be a lot of books to the series which seems a little daunting, but that might be something to look into?

Aestivalis-I recognise you off Cosmo Just thought i'd check out this site for a change.

Anyway one of the books I love is Watership down, re-read every few years. I've also re-read Kite Runner a couple of times and Cleaning Up by Tania Glide.

Hi Naughty. How're you finding it here?

Now you've said that I've got the urge to read Watership Down again too... I don't know where I've put it though.

Is Kite Runner good? It's kind of one of those books I feel I should read, but I don't know whether I'd enjoy it... Is it a sad story?

It's cool for a change but very slow compared to Cosmo and there are too many boards really, do you think?

The Kite Runner is a sad but amazing story, the right thing gets done in the end if you know what I mean.

I kinda like the amount of boards, it's like everything has its place... but I'd like it to be a little livelier, perhaps. Only thing we can do about that is post, right?

I'm definitely more interested in reading it if it works out alright in the end. I'm not really a fan of books that're sad AND leave you feeling "but but but wait..." (last one of those I almost threw it across the room ), but if it's worth the sadness then it's okay. (If that makes sense??)

I don't really re-read often, sometimes I do with my favourite authors. I read Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster again a few months ago and enjoyed it, and I remember choosing it because I knew it would make me feel good, so guess it qualifies as a comfort read

Thinking about re-reading Addition by Toni Jordan, because again despite being a difficult subject (OCD) it's overall upbeat and uplifting

My favourite is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I don't like re-reading books but read this one 3 times
