Would Katie Price flying out to Afghanistan cheer up our troops?

Britain's troops in Afghanistan had better prepare themselves - if rumours are to be believed, Katie Price is planning on giving our boys a morale boost by going over to Helmland province for her own tour of duty.

Following in the footsteps of 'Nation's Sweethearts' like Dame Vera Lynn and Katherine Jenkins, Katie is planning to fly out soon to cheer the troops up. "I want to do my bit for the soldiers out there. I want to give them something to smile about," a friend claims Katie told her. "Katie has always been fiercely proud of British troops. She has spoken lots about visiting Afghanistan, especially as tales of tragedy have increased. However low she felt with problems over her divorce, she knows she has never had to face the life-or-death issues that soldiers encounter."

The Ministry of Defence has denied that Katie will be entertaining the troops as they are concerned she would use the trip to get extra publicity for herself - but would she really cheer the troops up if she were to go out there?
