Should Dannii be punished for her comments about Danyl on the X Factor?

X Factor judge Dannii Minogue is in hot water with Danyl Johnston's legion of fans after a comment she made about his sexuality on the live Saturday night show.

Danyl, who has made no secret of the fact that he is bisexual, sang And I Am Telling You, changing the lyrics to refer to a woman where the original version referred to a man. Dannii was forced to make an on-air apology after suggesting that he didn’t need to change the lyrics. “I'd like to apologise if I offended anyone,” Dannii explained. “I was joking about it to Danyl before the show and it was not meant to offend anyone, so I apologise for that.”

However, big sister Kylie took to Twitter to say the controversy was just a storm in a teacup. "Just off the phone with my little sis,” Kylie wrote. “Both she and Danyl are surprised by how much unnecessary attention her innocent comment has garnered." X Factor producers have confirmed Dannii won’t be sacked for her comment.
