Is it right to post office gossip online?
Have your say on blogging from the workplace here
Posting office gossip online may soon be a thing of the past, as the High Court has just passed a ruling that anonymous bloggers can be made to reveal their identity.
The first writer to be unmasked by the ruling is police blogger NightJack, named in the press as Detective Constable Richard Horton, who has had a written warning from his employers after being named in the Times newspaper.
Thousands of anonymous bloggers writing about all types of jobs may now be at risk, and many writers, such as sex writer Belle De Jour, have said that they are worried where the ruling may lead.
What do you think? Do people who blog about their jobs and their colleagues deserve the right to remain anonymous?
