The singer Whitney Huston was found dead in her hotel room on Saturday 11th February
The singer Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room yesterday (11 February 2011), aged 48. Whitney was found by her bodyguards, who tried to revive her. Unconfirmed reports speculate that she may have drowned in the bath, or that her death was related to her much-documented drug and alcohol addiction.
Celebrities took to Twitter to to pay tribute to the star. Rihanna said she was ‘in tears’ over the death, while Simon Cowell said Whitney was a ‘true diva’ with ‘one of the best voices I have heard in my life, ever.’ Mitch Winehouse also paid tribute to the singer, referencing singer Etta James’ death last month, and his daughter Amy’s death last year: 'Amy, Etta, Whitney.
