Security increased after Waissel death threats

X Factor security has been stepped up and the police called in after death threats were made against contestant Katie Waissel, the Sun reports. A string of anti-Katie messages appeared online yesterday and producers have insisted they will act to both protect Waissel and find those responsible.
After Katie narrowly avoiding elimination again on Sunday's show, more than 150,000 people have joined a Facebook group that said the singer was harder to get rid of than a sexually transmitted disease. Meanwhile, on the comments boards for a Sun story about X Factor finalists' charity single Heroes threats against began to appear. "All I can say is die Katie Waissel," one user wrote while another insisted, "Katie Waissel deserves to die right at this minute."
"These threats are disgusting and outrageous. This is cyber bullying and we will not put up with it, an X Factor spokesman has claimed. "We are doing what we can to stop it and are contacting police."
